you must not be much of a driver. there are many tolls on I-95. troll.5/20/2008 10:31:21 PM |

^seriously. You have to pay around $5 one way to drive through Maryland, and at least $3 to drive through Delaware as well. Not to mention the tolls for a tunnel in Baltimore (Ft. McHenry or Harbor tunnel, take your pick) and the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Or if for some reason you want to avoid I-295 and take I-95 through Philly then you'll pay to cross the Ben Franklin Bridge. Strange how that one guy missed all these tolls

LOL, no fucking way that'll ever happen. It'll take years to pay it off and by then everyone will seemingly be complacent about it, no fucking chance they take it away.
I don't like these transponder things. Just wait till Big Brother starts tracking your speed with these things.5/20/2008 11:54:33 PM |

some toll roads will already write you a ticket if you average over the speed limit 5/21/2008 12:26:41 AM |

^^ Actually it's in the Turnpike Authority's agreement that they are required by the State of NC to remove tolls once it's paid for. And you know there are people out there that watch government like they have nothing better to do with their lives.

OK I didn't know. I thought there was some stipulation that federal funds paid for highways. 5/21/2008 3:10:03 AM |

Would building a monorail be that much more expensive than carving another road through the countryside? 5/21/2008 6:07:10 AM |

Yeah those things are pretty bad. They do an interesting write up on EZPass in the book Spychips.

I heard about that on NPR the other day. I know people in Chicago were pissed when they sold off their toll roads. 5/21/2008 8:20:01 AM |

the operators arent happy, they think that their union contracts wont be upheld for pay and job stability
the state however thinks that it'd be great, with the lump sum up front for construction/repairs
I dont really care, I only use the penna pike like twice a year 5/21/2008 8:30:29 AM |

Where exactly? (so I can avoid them). Thank God the NJTP doesn't do that, I think the average speed on that road in low traffic conditions is around 83mph 5/21/2008 11:54:54 AM |

Why can't we just make I95 a toll road and use the money to pay for 540. 5/21/2008 12:36:19 PM |
