"also i expect we'd see a lot more shopping districts like north hills popping up. Wouldn't it be nice to have all your shopping needs (EVERYTHING) in one big place so you could get your hair cut, go to the gym, buy some clothes, go to home depot and get house supplies, go to the grocery store, pick your kids up at daycare, all in one place?

Hell, i need to get involved in a project like that. Some serious $$ potential there."

If gas is $10 a gallon, consumer spending will be at an all-time low and retailers will be downsizing, not expanding. You wouldn't see much retail development in that kind of environment.

^^Is that in Raleigh?

Filled up at $3.99 earlier this week, damn the prices are moving fast. Guess they're trying to squeeze people for all they can over the holiday weekend, with the bonus that the prices will probably not come back down afterward.

At this rate we'll see $5/gallon before the end of the summer.

I would just about guarantee this. As fast as gas prices have climbed in the past month, there's no telling where we will be by September/October. Some people are predicting $7.00/gal by the end of '09.
