salisburyboy was an adamant racist and conspiracy theorist who would post long, formulaic hate-posts in TSB and then largely refrain from participating in any debate. A number of us wanted him banned for a while, and we finally got our wish when he created a thread with a video from Russia showing two immigrants being brutally murdered and dumped in the woods by neo-nazis. This was under a thread title like, "Russia knows what to do about illegal immigrants."

So, as to "what he did," I guess the answer is "Posting graphic depictions of murder as instructional material."

The Soap Box (and TWW in general) are better off without him. At best he was too offensive for even this site, and at worst he was a public image disaster waiting to happen. The News and Observer might've had a field day with that kid, and I don't know about you, I don't want a headline about NCSU being full of immigrant-decapitating hillbilly fucks.

There was an article in (i think) Harper's not that long ago about some white nationalist group that was doing all these underground videos on how to resist the coming Obama presidency and I imagined that the guy in the article running the company (which was based in Raleigh and filmed some videos at Yates Mill Pond) was salisburyboy.

They are clearly very different people. Hooksaw has, indeed, never once promoted violence or racism.* But the fact that you use contrary defenses for each is a bit sickening, and if anything it's got to be offensive to one (or both) of the beneficiaries of your support.
