Last time i checked $500 is not enough to get a college education. besides who are we kidding sally sue is not going to use that $500 for course at the local community college. Otherwise i would agree; i think the gov't paying to help educate people is a good investment of tax payer money.6/10/2008 6:26:51 PM |

i didn't read it on the internet, correct, and i guess.
from the chicago tribune:
Quote : | "SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — The Pentagon urged interrogators at Guantanamo Bay to destroy handwritten notes in case they were called to testify about potentially harsh treatment of detainees, a military defense lawyer said Sunday.
The lawyer for Toronto-born Omar Khadr, Lt. Cmdr. William Kuebler, said the instructions were included in an operations manual shown to him by prosecutors and suggest the U.S. deliberately thwarted evidence that could help terror suspects defend themselves at trial.
Kuebler said he will seek a dismissal of charges against Khadr.
A Pentagon spokesman, Cmdr. Jeffrey Gordon, said he was reviewing the matter Sunday evening. " |

for what it's worth, i'm trying to make the broader point that we're not treating our terror suspects in a reasonable way consistent with the basic principles on which this country has thrived

Security v. freedom is an example of how emotion is involved in rational thought.
I wasn't doing anything resembling an analogy.
LOL, SECURITY V. FREEDOM IS LIKE APPLES AND ORANGES, LOL

the discussion was about thought versus emotion, and whether or not they were independent or were definitively coexistant...the analogy is security and freedom...are they completely independent (no) or should there be a happy medium...but i guess that logic went over your head...i didnt explain it with enough emotion for you to "feel" it] 6/10/2008 7:17:59 PM |

If it were truly be an analogy, as you say,
I'd be comparing thought to security, and thinking to freedom.
That doesn't even make sense.
Is it sinking in, yet? 6/10/2008 7:24:27 PM |

twista's brain hasn't matured to the point where he can think outside of the concrete, Boone. dont expect him to be able to grasp abstract analogies.
