Not true. The health inspection form doesn't even include bathroom inspection. It WILL deduct points if a bathroom is missing soap, drying apparatus, and signage that employees must wash hands before returning to work or if they observe employees using the restroom and not washing hands upon returning to work.

They do not lose points over "picky" stuff.

They lose .5 points over minor infractions, and up to 2.5 points for major infractions. An example of a major infraction would be if the chicken was not cooked to 165 degrees.

If it is a repeat violation, they would lose 5 points because it doubles point value as a repeat violation. So, assuming it is a restuarants first time of scoring below a 90, they had to have 4+ major infractions and that's pretty bad.

I have the form somewhere and I can tell you the exact infractions and point values if anyone is interested.

My kitchen would get a 95-98...I have two points to be added since I am ServSafe certified so I'd end up with a 97-100.

moldy? meh, scrape it off and get over it...2 months expired? if it doesn't smell like garbage, it probably isn't"

im pretty much the same way.
but i grew up eating the expired mayo and crushed bread and egg containers that had an egg broken in them (since we own grocery stores, either we eat it or it gets thrown out....why waste it?)

I think it makes you stronger... people that grow up in sanitary households usually have lots of issues with things
