Well I dont have TWC because its not in my area, but trust me, I feel your pain with my $165 bill with a $21 discount:
Oh, and HD and DVR aren't available in my area. So I just get HBO, Showtime, Encore, Stars, TMC, Cinemax, that kind of thing. I do have 10meg net though - can't complain on that.

yeah $5 each per month after the first - which I find to be bullshit considering they only have S-Video and RCA jacks - god damn rip offs dont even have components! 7/5/2008 12:59:09 AM |

Don't know if this was commented on or not, but you can buy a digital tuner box that can record.7/5/2008 10:05:49 AM |

I pay roughly 130 for digital w/ dvr, RR and one premium.
I feel like I could go with TurboHD from dish network and order the 1.5 MBPS RR and save about 50-60 bucks, depending on taxes. 1/14/2009 8:08:28 AM |

I spend about $100.
High speed through embarq for about $40
and about $60 to DirecTV, for the hd stuff, DVR, and insurance. 1/15/2009 9:07:24 AM |

i just priced it out on directv.com
50/mo. for 12 months then 73/mo. that's for HD DVR on 1TV...seems high to me. 1/15/2009 9:29:09 AM |

I dont think DirecTV is the cheapest
but it's the only game in town for me, because I'm hooked on sunday ticket. for 4 months out of the year. 1/15/2009 9:40:58 AM |

Well, I'd do the Turbo HD, but there are channels only in SD that my wife likes watching, so that's a no go. DirecTV is the only other option. 1/15/2009 10:56:30 AM |

So exactly how crappy is ATT internet?
Vonage has gone to complete shit again, cannot get a fax through and my roomate was complaining that callers on the other end cant hear him.
I was thinking about ATT internet and phone bundle but I heard its slower.
My only other option is switch back to TWC phone but that was expensive as shit. 1/16/2009 11:06:47 AM |

Okay so TWC decided to pull some Bullshit and up my internet price from $34.95 / month to $49.95 / month.
Anybody have some recommendations on other providers? Arguing with TWC? 2/25/2009 2:38:48 PM |

you have TV through them?
I don't have any other internet options, so I can't comment on that. But call and complain...can't hurt.
But they're f'n retarded. The last time I called to get my bill reduced, the guy said, "Well, we can upgrade your RR to the Turbo for only $5 more a month for 12 months."
I carlfaced. 2/25/2009 4:14:08 PM |

I don't pay for cable. Basic cable comes in with the RoadRunner service.
I'm going to call and see if they offer anything... doubtful, I always get better service at the counter. 2/26/2009 9:37:52 AM |

Quote : | "Earlier I was bitching about my new DVR not working. I finally got through to a human last week and today a TW guy came out to have a look. My signal was shit. He rolled off like 120 feet of new cable to go from the street to my house (which they will have to come bury later), added an amplifier to the digital lines, and got rid of some unnecessary splitters from the junction box.
The contractors that came in last week had a 2 way to split Cable and RR, then a 3 way with one going to the living room, another was empty, and another going to a 4 way. It was a mess.
Anyway, it works great now. gg TWC." |
3/4 of their service calls are to fix the problems the contractors fucked up.
if you are having problems with VOIP, call time warner and have them come test your lines. your signal is probably shit.2/26/2009 10:53:05 AM |
