^ I agree on low-balling (within reason). Sometimes you can get great deals on stuff that people seriously just don't want in their possession anymore. When you show up and have a big wad of cash, you'd be surprised as to what people will sell their shit for when the bills are in the open.

and i don't care whether or not it's "within reason". worst they can do is decline the offer (well, worst they can really do is get insulted or think you're not a serious buyer, and then that makes it harder to negotiate up...so if it's something you really want, don't lowball as hard)
