mine was consistently like 165/90, but my cholesterol is perfect. My Dr. put me on Lisinopryl for the bp, and told me to get my fat ass back in the gym. Most likely when I go back in September she will be able to take me off the meds
7/10/2008 11:54:44 AM
I'm always like 110/75 When I had the flu it was like 100/70! My doc didn't believe it.
7/10/2008 11:55:48 AM
How low is too low?
7/10/2008 11:57:04 AM
my low number was 63 once and they told me that was kinda low...my upper number has never been below 118 i think
7/10/2008 11:58:13 AM
i eat a light sensible breakfast (usually a low fat yogurt cup and SB Diet breakfast bar) a fruit for a snack a couple hours later, a light low carb, low fat, high protein lunch (usually chicken breast or pork with green beans), vegetable snack b/w lunch and dinner and then a light low carb, low fat, high protein dinner. i try not to eat dinner after 8. i work out 4 days a week with both weight training and cardio. i lost 25lbs, 2 inches in the waist but gained over an inch in my arms and chest in 3 months on this diet.
7/10/2008 11:58:35 AM
Mine is always 100-110/60something-70something, I think. Maybe.
7/10/2008 11:58:55 AM
prolly cause your vegetarian(seriously...not just saying that)[Edited on July 10, 2008 at 12:00 PM. Reason : my boss was the same way at the museum of art]
7/10/2008 12:00:02 PM
I'm sure that's why, but I want to know if that's bordering on too low.
7/10/2008 12:01:37 PM
7/10/2008 12:03:32 PM
Nah it's not too low. It's in the normal range.I guess my doctor figured I should have super high blood pressure since I'm not skinny haha
7/10/2008 12:03:43 PM
so if i am underweight, does dieting mean eating MOAR calories ?
7/10/2008 12:19:21 PM
I really don't think dieting works. The key is to make a lifestyle change that you can live with. I'd go crazy if I had to count calories or count pointsWhat works for me is completely cutting out foods that trigger hunger or cravings. I don't eat bread, pasta, dessert, candy, fried foods or dairy (lactose intolerant).I stick to lean meats, like seafood and chicken, and it's very satisfying. No hunger pangs. And I'm very happy with my weight now.
7/10/2008 1:16:48 PM
Yeah i'm not really on a diet... i just changed my diet.. i calorie count for training wheels but its not a permanent thing.

I love counting calories, because it's kind of like a little game to me. But I can see where you're coming from. That's why I said earlier I hate the thought of going on a diet rather than just altering how much and what you eat to fit your personal goal.[Edited on July 10, 2008 at 1:33 PM. Reason : I actually thought I would hate it before I started doing it]
7/10/2008 1:31:22 PM
mine is routinely 110/60They've never said anything about it being too low.
7/10/2008 1:34:39 PM
I used to count calories, but it made me think and stress about food too much. And at one point I was eating too few calories and my metabolism slowed down and I started gaining weight.I've lost about 20 pounds since I stopped counting calories--and I've kept the weight off for over a year.
7/10/2008 1:38:30 PM
Eventually your body will adjust to any reasonable calorie level if you eat the same amount every day. Calorie cycling, or at least having an "off" day where you eat more than usual every so often is a good idea, I believe.
7/10/2008 1:44:49 PM
I eat whatever I'm craving.
7/10/2008 1:46:54 PM
My idea of dieting is watching my portions and trying to eat healthy.I don't count calories.I don't count carbs (I'll watch them occasionally and look at the carb content on labels).I don't count fat grams (same as above with carbs). If I know I'm putting on a few pounds, I just won't eat as much. I don't come anywhere close to starving myself...but when my appetite is satisfied, I don't eat more. I don't finish up the fries just because they're there. I don't eat that last bit of pasta to clean the plate. If I'm craving a piece of cheesecake, but I just ate a big meal and I'll be full until I go to bed, I don't eat a piece of cheesecake.I'll still eat relatively non-healthy stuff, but just less of it. I'll substitute a salad in for a meal or a chicken breast instead of a burger. I'll snack less, and if I do, it's healthy snacks. I usually pick up more fruits at the grocery store when I'm "dieting."So those are my thoughts on dieting.
7/10/2008 1:48:29 PM
^^ i'd eat you then

I eat whatever I want/when I want, although I don't eat NEARLY as much as I used to. My motabolism isn't that high (anymore), but I don't show it (6' ~145lbs). I really don't have a diet, except I make sure to always have veggies and drink at least a glass (mine are 16oz) of milk everyday. I'm starting to wake up at 6:30 and hit the pool for some quick laps before I have to go to work. I wouldn't call it a diet I guess as much as I would say it's healthy living. I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every weekday. Weekends are relaxed "eat whatever I want," though often I guess I'm too lazy and just munch all day. White rice is a big part of most dinners.I feel that 70% of America needs to be on a diet. Good gawd some of you mother fuckers are huge. And by diet, I agree:
8/15/2008 4:56:51 PM
i've become a big fiber fan... if you don't feel like monitoring it on the intake... make sure you're body gets rid of what it doesn't need.... (this + exercise works great)
