Not in the sense in what hardcore is defined as today, which is what [name]sumfoo1[/name] originally meant with this thread. Today's 'hardcore' is ~. Grindcore has always been brutal as fuck. But I will agree with you about hardcore punk and the split off of grindcore from that.

Yeah, genre labels are largely subjective. But that doesn't mean you have to act thickheaded to prove a point, blas
haha I'd call Soilent Green CAJUN DEATH
Assuming you're talking about the SG from Louisiana, with the singer from Goatwhore
and yeah...it's confusing, but grindcore is definitely not a subgenre of today's hardcore. Grindcore is sick, brutal shit and in no way related to screamo. It just kept the unfortunate "-core" suffix from it's roots, I suppose.

I never understood why in metal the guys always yellin the lyrics, like 1.how the F do they do shows, his/her voice has gotta be shot after a few hrs 2. DO THEY HAVE TO YELL, like couldnt they just sing or say the lyrics and turn up the treble a lil to get the same affect, i mean I just listened to Trivium song "like light to the flies" I can't even understand what the first guy yellin is talking about, but the chorus/vocals were great as well as the music....no disrespect to metal, i mean the guitar is my favorite instrument and I love DMB, Nirvana, AC/DC and Led Zepplin...i just cant get with all the yellin...even thought Deathklok's show is pretty funny.....
also I was always curious, when Deathklok does a concert do they acually perform in real life, or do they do it all animated on a big screen or something

I went to go see them at paganfest when it came to raleigh. I'm just starting to like some heavier music and my friend convinced me to go with him. It was my first time going to see anything resembling that style of music. Even at a show where people are thrashing around and moshing, they're still pretty friendly. My friend threw me in the pit and I ended up falling down but as soon as that happened a couple guys were helping me up. It was a surprisingly cool environment, but epic and energetic at the same time.
I've also played the hell out of the Dethalbum recently and Metalocalypse is by far my favorite show. Any suggestions for bands/songs that are similar to Dethklok? 7/31/2008 1:46:12 PM |
Walls1441 All American 10000 Posts user info edit post |
supposedly if you do the vocals correctly you limit the use of your vocal chords tremendously and its mostly pushing air. but don't ask me thats just what i've read from rumors on the internets.
^ paganfest was a blast. Bands like dethklok? ARCH ENEMY GET THE FIRST 4 ALBUMS. if you help people up in the pit, they will help you.] 7/31/2008 1:46:51 PM |
