^ yeah, that's exactly what i said. putting the screws on the same side as the key hole would defeat the purpose of even having a lock.

take a free card like a vic card or mvp card or something and force it through the S that it will have to make to hit the latching mechanism... it will do it i promise... and if you work at it enough it will slip through and unlock it... but more than likely if it is an interior door it has a cheat on it somewhere that can unlock it... usually either a pin hole in the door knob or a hole next to the door knob with what appears to be a flat-head screwdriver looking screw looking thing... either stick something long and skinny in the hole or twist the screw looking thing 90 degrees and the door should unlock.... unless you have an exterior door handle on an interior door..
