but none are 100% sure losses, something you dont usually say about Duke football

1-11 is expected check
2-10 is possible check
3-9 could happen check
4-8 or more probably wont happen check

yeah, the starting line up in the first exhibition game was Smith, Scheyer, Henderson, Singler, Plumlee... works for me... Paulus will be first off the bench for Smith, Elliott Williams probably first off the bench for Scheyer. i would personally like to see Zoubek get 5 minutes or less a game. either way, that's definitely a top 10 team.

question for NyM410: do you think UCONN will live up to their hype? right now, they look like a top 5 , but i want to see how Price looks coming off a torn ACL before proclaiming them to be as good as UNC or Louisville.. and i've never been too impressed by Thabeet, but i do expect him to be better.

I think they are Top 5-10 at the beginning of the season. Hasheem is a beast now from what I've read. My problem with him has always been that he was "expecting" contact at the hoop and not going up strong. From everything I've seen/read he is thinking dunk first and worry about contact later and that I expect that to add 4-5 ppg to his total. I really think he'll be a 15 points/10 rebounds/5 blocks per game type of guy this year. Price will be fine and even if he isn't they have what a lot of people think is the best pure PG to enter college this year in Kemba Walker.

They CAN be as good as UNC by the end of the year if Stanley Robinson and Ater Majok are both added, as they are expected to be, at the end of the fall semester... Frankly, I'm glad that Nate Miles is gone. Didn't want another problem kid at UConn...

gotta love this when duke went 28-6 last year; i know the ncaa tourney wasn't what they wanted but if state ever got to where 28-6 was a disappointment that would be amazing

and imo, duke is gonna be extremely good this year. i see an elite 8 type year and then you only have to win one more to go to the final four. possible b/c they have some experience this year they haven't had in a while.

7 losses heading in to late-March. Can't make a prediction since we don't know matchups but they have Elite 8 talent and if they go out before then it'd be a disappointment.

dammit.. this is dukes thing.

they will start out smashing a team, then over the next few games the margin of win will decrease and then it will be a close game, then duke will lose the next one.

they will lose the next game, thats just how they've been historically. i use to be able to call it a ton in the past 5-6 years... lets just hope this year is different.

this team definitely needs to improve. Henderson has been invisible so far this season. however, Rhode Island shot over 70% from 3-point range.. and a lot of those shots were well-contested. any team that is shooting that well is gonna be tough to beat.. the next two games will tell us a lot about this team

Before the game Cutcliffe was saying something about how UNC was the best ACC team on their schedule because they were more balanced than any other team (which I took as yet another jab at us... cause I'm bias) and how UNC would end up with a minimum of 7 wins. Wow. Way to motivate your players.

The "best team we've played" business I can understand, you want to keep your players motivated and ready to play.

The "minimum of 7 wins" business I can't. On some level you're just acknowledging that the other team will likely beat you.

Either way... a new reason to dislike Duke. They didn't beat UNC.
