Transportation has had a very quick response to the even exchange
offer. As of this time we have gone through the allotted 40 (DD)
exchanges. Should more space become available in the future we will
contact you by email.

I was one of the lucky few to get the exchange from DC to DD. I parked on the Dan Allen deck this morning around 10:50 and the first two levels were completely full but the third level was only half full. So it looks like they did a good job of not exchanging too many causing both decks to be completely full. Is the parking situation still bad at the Coliseum Deck?

Well I think they've moved a total of 40-80 people over to DD recently.

Also I have started taking the apartment shuttle even though it is more inconvenient I actually can get to class earlier sometimes just b/c im not spending 10+ minutes looking for a parking spot. Plus it saves gas.

I have class at 8 or 8:30 everyday, so I drive to the top every morning and park right next to the stairs. Pretty sweet deal. However, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have to go home at 10 to make sure my puppy hasn't torn anything up or peed everywhere, and I have class again at 11:45. If I leave at 11:00 from my apartment (LJM), I drive around for 30 minutes. If I leave at 10:50, there are usually five or six spots on the very top. Pretty crazy how much of a difference ten minutes makes.

And if the guy who glared at me and shook his head because I was sticking out into the lane perpendicular to his direction of travel is reading this, IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. THAT ASIAN KID [no racist] ACTED LIKE HE WAS GOING TO LET ME OUT AND THEN SPED UP, AND THE PERSON BEHIND ME PREVENTED ME FROM BACKING UP. I APOLOGIZE. I AM NOT A CRAPPY DRIVER.

parking off of Clark St. FTW

Tickets are only $15 if you exceed the 2 hour limit

I parked in the same spot off of Clark St. pretty much all day, everyday, for the last 2.5 semesters and have only got ~4 tickets (maybe 5 but no more).

4*15 = $60 for 2.5 semesters of parking within 2 blocks of all my classes

^^ I've seen quite a few vehicles with those old passes on them.

Some of them were even backed into the spots in the deck so you could see the pass clearly on the front of the windshield. They didn't have a new sticker next to it, just the one old one. It's like they're just taunting the parking enforcement folks.

^^^Why don't you guys just e-mail transportation and ask them to enforce the deck a little more?

^ Really? Well, I was talking about the old DC deck passes (the yellow ovals) which I saw on a few cars in the deck. Those are good for a year.

I haven't had any problems since I have class at 10:15 am everyday. The 4th and 5th levels always have some spots open when I get there. I just wish they could give out tickets to people who park so close to the next spot that you can't turn in.

Surely they can give tickets if they're illegally parked.

They give tickets for encroachment if the people are parked over the line, though it is at the discretion of the parking enforcement.

I lucked out this morning. Some jackass was driving the wrong way down the second level and blocked an end spot next to the stairs from the car in front of me. I let the jackass through and nabbed one of the best spots in the deck.

I arrive on campus at 9:45 MWF and usually park on a level with no ceiling. T/TH I arrive at 7:50 and never have a problem. But when I come out to my car there is always people circling.

I'm taking a wild guess and saying they oversold by 30% this year, and it is unacceptable.

More kids in that deck are skipping class. The people who do it vary from week to week, but it helps keep stuff less awful during peak hours.
