at first i was like, "holy shit what is going on with 13 yr olds these days" and then i remembered, we had the same shit going on when i was 13 at my middle school in nj. i do think that over time it's become a more of a broadened aspect with more kids engaging in activities such as sex in middle school but i think that kids also think it's more socially accepted at the same time so they talk about it more.

i think it's always been there.....just not in high numbers or talked about as much.

There are people who are ready to have sex when they are 13, perhaps younger. Some people aren't mature enough until later adolescence. Some just have a low libido no matter what age.

Hugging having such an effect make logical sense. I read a recent study which showed that children who had a close physical relationship with their mothers when young (hugging, caressing, etc) responded much better to distressing situations and were much more emotionally stable as adults than adults who as children didn't have such a relationship with their mothers. So basically it makes you gentler and kinder... personality traits which are disappearing from this world fast.

So it makes sense to think that a society populated with adults who are not emotionally stable, who are hot-tempered, and who explode in distressing situations would be a society rife with hate, killing, crimes against women and children, sex abuse, and hierarchies.

Can preventing teens from having sex have such a destructive influence on societies? I don't know, but my gut feeling says no. But maybe... it does make some sense. But I think maternal love would have a much stronger effect.

If an experiment was done in which 2 mini-societies of 10,000 individuals each was created out of the same mother-society, and in one mini-society, mothers had a close relationship with their children, but sex for teens was taboo, whereas in the other mini-society, mothers had a formal and distant relationship with their children, but sex for teens was accepted, I am very very very sure that a few generations later, the former one would be a nicer, kinder society, with much less hate, crime, killings, and indifference.

I think it makes perfect logical sense.

It would be great if such an experiment could be conducted

Because I'm not thinking of any major cultures that don't have social hierarchies and are completely happy.

For hundreds of thousands of years, primitive humans lived in hunter gather societies of 30-100(Feel free to correct my numbers) and were fine. As soon as humans started forming cities and major societies, that's when shit started happening.

Tribes in Africa, South America, shit even North America only 200 years ago, are remnants of the former. Most of the rest of the world is the consequence of the latter.

my good friends sister ended up fucking some guy when she was 12 and i was 15. she hadn't even kissed a guy and then went to visit her dad and her cousin had sex with some guy while she ended up having sex with some 17 year old guy.
