the realistic answer is probably b/c society is still a hierarchy of race/gender...

(at least in the past..) white guys are on top of society, then white girls, then black men, then black women. It has only really become acceptable so far to have a relationship one class apart.

at least this seems how people view stuff... most white guys i know would consider it a step down to be dating a black girl

I find a lot of black girls attractive on a number of levels (that is, not just physically), but as a white conservative it would be difficult enough for me to get with any of them even if I weren't completely unappealing to women in general.
