i've played a few rondomusic.com specials and they've all been much better than a Squire for less. I'd start there for something just to dick around with.

don't get a rondo music guitar with a tremolo. they have licenced floyds, but their other guitars are decent. The necks aren't great but whatever, you're still just learning.

yeah the best thing you can do is look around for a while. or just go to a guitar store and let the guy trick you into buying something

Nice. I have an acoustic guitar that I never play and I have an electric tuner for it. But you don't need the acoustic.

for the Ibanez guitars

what's the significance of the number after the series abbr.

like for RG you say x50 and x70 just meant faceplate

but what about the x...ive seen some that are like RG1-- and 3-- or whatever

ha what about an Iceman?

judging by the prices im seeing on others, it looks like it might not be that great

go to sam ash or guitar center and actually try out a couple
build quality is important, but fit and feel are too. there's no point in buying a guitar that's uncomfortable to play

if eventually through practice and dedication you can sound good on a squire, then yes you take your hobby seriously and should look into getting an upgrade. but until then...
