seriously though, my old boss over at biltmore might be willing to give you a hand with that big ass komatsu forklift, either that or trow some boards across the rafters in the garage, lift it up with some of ivans hold down straps, and drive out from under it 11/3/2008 8:10:48 AM |

it can't weigh that much empty with what it's made of... two people can pull a "normal" truck bed, i don't see this one needing more than four...? 11/3/2008 8:34:25 AM |

i dont know about 2 people pulling a normal truck bed
it took 4 with my long bed, and 3 with my short bed.... then we fabricated the Creep 11/3/2008 8:51:53 AM |

i think a normal bed is like a 1/2 ton short bed 11/3/2008 9:47:44 AM |

even if they pull the 2000# of tools out, i'd estimate this bed between 800-1000# 11/3/2008 9:59:30 AM |

^ha, don't let him fool you... that's some shit HE would do, too.
i'm hardly a beast, but if two (or three if you're lazy) average/decent size men can't pull off a normal 8' (and especially a 6') half ton truck bed by themselves, they need to start eating their wheaties.
Quote : | "i'd estimate this bed between 800-1000#" |
sounds reasonable. 4 people should easily be able to do that. i forgot we're talking about the two shorties of the garage here though, better make it 6, lol.
or hell, just a little creativity with some pipe/tubing, wood, or an engine hoist... simple machines people, learn to use them. if i can move most of a dodge ram with one, i know you fools can figure out how to get a bed off with one. call if you need my expertise, i'm good at supervising.

a utility bed is a little heavier than a standard bed 11/3/2008 12:11:28 PM |
BigBlueRam All American 16852 Posts user info edit post |
no shit, that's why i'm saying FOUR people instead of TWO people. this also isn't exactly a normal utility the bed either, half of the damn thing is fiberglass, plastic, or some shit. 11/3/2008 12:16:39 PM |

fiberglass, plastic, aluminum, steel, duct tape, bubblegum, etc. 11/3/2008 12:18:19 PM |
