nah. probably makes maybe 350/800 or so on the top tune. it weighs a good 5 tons though. my dad's 350 is the impressive one, especially for just a tune (though it is a pretty extensive/custom one).
the C m11 in the toter is rated at like 350/900. with just a mild tune they're good for 400/1200. the big difference between it vs. something like your dmax is where it makes that power though. it's putting it out just over idle all the way to fuel cut just over 2k. numbers aren't everything. what matters is where the peaks are made and what the power under the curve looks like.
doesn't really matter though. diesel trucks are made to work/haul, not be dyno queens or cut a time at the track.10/30/2008 10:32:48 PM |

lol. not that i don't think projects like yours aren't cool as hell as i've said before, it's just my personal preference. if i'm going to have something fast, it's going to be a car of some variety. 10/30/2008 10:59:43 PM |

You evidently haven't seen a Cummins NTC gettin' it on the strip. Big rig powrrrr.10/30/2008 11:07:20 PM |

^^you better be in the single digits then.
^sure i have... still, while impressive, it's still just a truck only doing a mediocre job at something it was never designed to do. i like my vehicles to serve specific purposes and nothing else. why do you think i have so many?

why don't you just sell a few dozen vehicles and build one pimp ass ride 11/3/2008 7:32:46 PM |
BigBlueRam All American 16852 Posts user info edit post |
^^well, i was referring to a dodge since this is the 6bt thread, but i'm considering anything that's 5-6 years old or less. quad cab, 4wd. diesel or a big gasser (like the gm 8.1). might would even go for an excursion or newer 2500 suburban/yukon also.
^nah, this isn't for building or play. just a work truck/semi DD. getting rid of my powerstroke and a company truck that rarely gets used to consolidate to something a little smaller, newer, and cheaper to operate.

^^^just wondering. a guy down the road has an '05 or '06 f250 powerstroke ccsb that looks good as hell. it appears stock except for the tint on the front windows. it's blue with, i think, a silver bottom. 11/3/2008 8:58:36 PM |

no other info available
there is also an '05 suburban for 8500 on falls of neuse near wakefield. it's been for sale for awhile now. it was originally priced at 11500 so i'm sure they'll go a lot lower.

try gmpartsdirect.com? See if you can get a part number. 11/6/2008 9:10:40 PM |
BigBlueRam All American 16852 Posts user info edit post |
screw gmpartsdirect. cheap prices, but customer service is HORRIBLE. hit up gene culley at gmpartshouse, he'll usually match gmpartsdirect prices if he can and will do whatever to help if you have questions or anything. 11/6/2008 9:57:01 PM |
