I recall Dr. Vinoitis saying in ECE220 (both times I took it ) that people who get C's or D's in his class go into sales.....

For the record, I'm in manufacturing.

I've found sales "people" who actually graduated with EE degrees to be more worthless then sales "people" who had no former EE background.

Go through engineering (albeit poorly) to track packages, make annoying phone calls, take action items, and pay for dinner?

Hey, someone has to take me out to lunch everyday, I line em up every week. In an average month, I buy my own lunch 2-3 times.

and some of them make more money than the engineers do and have a hell of a lot more fun/freedom

..and of course some of them are just completely worthless cocaine dealers lol

I don't get paid by commission so yeah, I do get a steady pay check. I guess that isn't the norm though

I wasn't trying to knock any sales guys by my comment above.

It was more of a "you were wrong, I'm not in sales" comment.

holy shit. i decided i'd just see what is out there on craigslist, and there isn't anything at all. i knew it was bad, but didn't realize how bad. in atlanta its <100 positings in the last month. the biggest day was oct 14 with 30 posts. everyday after that, its like 3 or 4 posts/day. what the hell happened on the 15? i thought the financial market tanked back in september.

good luck to you guys that are looking. i'm not crazy about my current job, but i suppose i should be glad i have one.
