you might think that
but did your parents ever fall for the "Breadmaker" craze? yeah, once you've spent a year eating bread you had to slice yourself, so you never have a symmetrical sandwich and you never get a consistent ratio of bread-to-fillings, you'll be ready to lift sliced bread back up where it belongs, joe cocker style

It's a post-Bourne Identity Death Wish.
Pretty lame. The action was sloppy, and it was much less smart than the Bourne series. 2/1/2009 6:59:09 PM |

Less sloppy than Bourne? Do you mean that you could actually see the action? 2/1/2009 7:11:38 PM |

It was more sloppy.
In that the bad guys in this movie had aim worse than stormtroopers.
As far as camera shakiness, they were about the same. 2/1/2009 8:08:37 PM |

it wasn't trying to be smart, it was trying to be fun, bad ass, and entertaining, and it was, very much so.

also hilarious that the site classifies it as a horror/suspense movie

That's pretty funny. Actually.. I never ate sliced bread (except a few rare occurrences while visiting people) til I moved to the U.S. at age 10. I miss fresh bread sliced minutes ago... but you are right... not enough to start slicing it myself!2/2/2009 11:36:13 PM |

Its worth it to see it on the big screen.
Liam Neeson is about as badass as it gets. Action scenes were great, you could actually tell what was going on most of the time unlike the bourne series.

I really want to see this movie this weekend.
I wanted to see it when I first saw the previews but the hubby didn't. But now that the reviews are pretty good, he wants to see it. 2/6/2009 12:10:32 PM |

goddamn
i was SO FUCKING PUMPED after seeing this movie
Liam fucked up everyone. Everyone. The scene where Marco read "good luck" was pretty great, but the dinner table scene may now be in my top 5 movie scenes ever. 2/9/2009 12:27:09 AM |

you know i just watch this and thought it was pretty good. but i wouldnt compare it to borne identity. its not a spy movie. it more of a vengence type of movie. i think it more like get carter or man on fire. on guy just moving up the ladder until he gets to what he wants. not a spy movie where some mater plan is being hatched 2/9/2009 9:22:37 AM |

Definitely one of the few movies that I didn't walk out after the movie thinking that I had just wasted $7 bucks. Hell, I saw a bootlegged copy and still went to see it in theaters. 2/9/2009 12:58:52 PM |

I enjoyed this much more than I remember enjoying Man on Fire.
Man on Fire spent a ton of time Denzel's internal struggle. Taken doesn't; it's basically Man on Fire without the uninteresting "the past is haunting me" aspect. 2/9/2009 2:23:39 PM |

this movie was good for 3/4th of it. and then it just made no freaking sense and ended.
i'm assuming the boat had an auto-pilot function considering they were going pretty fast down the river when Liam killed everyone on board and then had a moment with his daughter... 2/27/2009 2:11:04 PM |

you suspend your belief for 110 minutes and in the final scene want to know how the boat didn't crash into something. you were so close. 2/27/2009 2:35:00 PM |

i mean, logic would tell me that he had to have killed everyone on board, including the boat pilot. odds are the boat pilot worked for the Albanians too, and therefore would have been trained and equiped with a deadly weapon. if he was alive, then he surely would have been inclined to go after Liam, but we see no such thing which leads me to believe that Liam killed him with the other and the boat was left to steer itself for probably at least 2-3 minutes in teh time that he shot the fat guy in the head and reunited with the daughter.
boat had to crash. 2/27/2009 2:43:49 PM |

...or maybe his job was just to drive the boat and keep his mouth shut about what goes on. rich mother fuckers like that probably have personal chefs and other shit like that too, doesn't mean they are gonna be carrying around guns and try to kill people for them.2/27/2009 2:54:17 PM |

You have to put yourself into the shoes of the boat captain. Maybe he scratched up the boat a little in the past docking it and the boss man killed the captian's wife for it. The boat captian probably cried, "I thought your life was in danger, I was only coming to help," as his wife was raped and murdered in front of him, to which the boss man probably told him to not EVER fuck the boat up or his daughters would be next.
[Edited on February 27, 2009 at 2:57 PM. Reason : probably a deleted scene]
Or maybe it was intentionally left open like that for a sequel. Maybe the boat captain was the real mastermind behind everything...
