naw, i missed it this year, sadly. i'd just moved out to LA and classes were about to start for me, so I couldn't swing the plane tickets to come back so soon.

I'm actually in Santa Monica, so it's really nice. Deb and I are both within biking distance of work, and I'm a block from the beach so I go leave early to play volleyball a few times a week... it's a rough life.

Holy shit, this thread is ridiculous. I, for one, am a little surprised at the confusion of the cashier. It's common courtesy to oblige your paying customer so long as the request is something within reason; obviously they have the right to refuse, but really, why the resistance? It's not that big of a deal to switch some quarters for some dollars.

^that happened to me once. I had a 12-pk of beer. 1 pack of 12 beers, that is all. I was wearing sandals, a t-shirt, and gym shorts, carrying a freaking 12-pack.

I check out at the register right in front of the exit, there's no other customers within a 50 ft radius, it was pretty dead at the time. the Nazi door death warrior is there, she's about 15 ft away. she see's me checking out, and she begins some small talk. I finish checking out, I get my receipt, and start to held out. I promptly end the light conversation, and just as I get passed her... well holy fuck.

"EXCUSE ME SIR! WHERE ARE YOU GOING? DID YOU PAY FOR THAT BEER? I NEED A RECEIPT."

holy fucking hell woman
