This thread got me back playin again. Sweet game.

There is a problem with this strategy. If you did that, I would simply goal-tend at every possible opportunity. Goal-tending does not count as a made basket, even though it adds points.

This means after I goal-tend three times, I'm on fire and can goal-tend with no penalty for 4 straight possessions (goal-tending is legal for the guy on fire, no points for the shot - it counts as a steal). That math doesn't work in your favor. Yeah, it's exploiting bad game design, but hey, it works.

Spurs and Hornets are clearly the best. The only attributes that matter in this game are power, blocking and, to a lesser extent, steals. Rodman/Robinson and LJ/Mourning are unstoppable. Besides, with no fouling, on many of your 3-pt. attempts you would simply be shoved down before even getting it off...unless you have two shooters.
