Would love to know what the worst record is for an MVP.
You just can't give an MVP to a player on an 8-8 team unless he rushes for 2,500 yards or some ridiculous stat like that.12/21/2008 7:20:00 PM |

So the MVP award has the same problem as the Heisman then? It doesn't necessarily go to the best player, just the best player on the best team. 12/21/2008 7:23:28 PM |

How can you even think of giving Warner the MVP after today's performance? 12/21/2008 7:27:30 PM |

I don't think anyone has him there now.
He was a front runner 2 weeks ago when I made the thread.
He had clinched his division for the first time in like 70 years, and was only a few yards behind Brees (and also on pace to pass Marino).

AP and Warner's performance today pretty much locked up MVP for Peyton.
Rivers dang well should be in the talks if they win next week because it has been all him all season without a healthy LT. 12/21/2008 7:37:31 PM |

LT is probably the biggest pussy in the NFL, he is never "healthy". 12/21/2008 8:10:02 PM |

Bump.
1) Peyton
1A) Rivers
2) Brees
AP became too turnover prone
COY:
1) Sparano
2) Smith

Does anyone care that AP has fumbled 9 times compared to DWill's 0 fumble season? 12/31/2008 11:02:45 AM |

its official, Peyton won the MVP
Quote : | "Peyton Manning was named the NFL MVP for the third time Friday.
Only Manning could win an MVP for his worst season in a decade. Manning's play was uneven early, but he earned the trophy with 17 TDs and three picks during Indy's nine-game winning streak. Still, he was the default choice in a weird year with no good candidates. There were a few defensive possibilities, but they canceled each other out and didn't close strong. Chad Pennington and Michael Turner were next in the voting, but we would have placed Matt Ryan and the New York offensive line ahead of them" |

Damn, I predicted 5 outta 6.
If only AP hadn't gotten so fumble-prone. 1/6/2009 1:10:12 PM |

I still think it's major BS that Phil isn't going to the Pro Bowl and got no MVP reps. 1/6/2009 1:18:40 PM |
