you make it sound like it's impossible to lose weight without the perfect conditions - clearly that's not the case - but a lifestyle change will have to occur12/18/2008 10:34:31 AM |

of course, i'm not saying that it isn't possible to keep the weight off. i'm just saying that the drastic weight loss they experience on the ranch is directly related to those 5 things, and when you take that away, it's going to be very hard to maintain the weight you've lost (and even to keep losing) without some serious commitment on your part. but let's face it, when you return to the real world, you've got a job, bills to pay, kids to take care of (sometimes), and just generally a life to live. so working out 7hrs a day, eating only the freshest of meats, fruits and veggies prepared in the healthiest of ways, and getting 8hrs of sleep a night is just NOT possible for a lot of people. inevitably old habits return because, while they've learned a lot on the ranch, they haven't actually made those drastic changes to their everyday lifestyle - just their lifestyle while away from home, secluded on a ranch.
don't get me wrong, i'm not wishing failure on any of these people. not in the least! i cry during every single episode of biggest loser for one reason or another, but mostly because i'm just so amazed at the transformations these people make. as an overweight person, it's wonderful to see someone go from being like me to being thin and healthy. 12/18/2008 10:38:03 AM |
