when i saw the movie, overall i liked it...but there were two things that kinda bothered me. one more than the other.

that whole montage with the paper planes song went on forever. it was like they tried too hard, as if it was gonna be a music video or something.

but wtf was with the credits? where the hell did that shit come from?

^^
Probably paying respects to traditional Indian films since the majority of the actors and probably crew are from the region.

If anyone is planning on seeing this at Galaxy next weekend, I highly suggest coming early because of the crowds we have had today and yesterday.

hehe. I would so be in love with her too. I think I have changed wanting to look like Rosario Dawson to looking like Freida Pinto...maybe.

I didn't think it was too long at all. Served as some comic relief, and getting on a train and just popping up in the next area too quick would be equally lame.

And the credit sequence was AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING.

traditional bollywood movies have random dance sequences throughout the movie. so as a joke they put a sequence in at the end. i personally laughed my head off when i saw that

the credits made the movie as a whole

i even felt it was coming on before it even started...i almost leaned over to my lady to say, "i bet they start dancing," but it happened before i could

it felt good at the end to feel the happiness of the dance and the song in contrast to the violence

it will be a travesty if this movie doesn't win an oscar for best film. not that awards mean everything, but you know what i'm sayin

Frost/Nixon shouldn't win because of the oversympathetic tones towards Nixon.
Benjamin Button shouldn't win because it is a poor film.
I haven't seen Milk or The Reader.

But yeah, I hope this wins.

I saw this last night at the Carolina. One of the better movies I've seen the past few years.

I was really depressed about what they did to some of the beggar kids ....guess it shows the
reality of slum life.

When they were thrown from the train and hit the ground, they also aged about 5 years and learned to speak english.

So I think that "music video" scene might have served as a montage. If it felt long, that's because a lot of time was passing.

I dunno, I thought the entire film was brilliant.

^ that is sad they are still living in the slums considering the roles they had in this movie.

I did read articles about how they got paid something like 10 times the average adult salary and how their schooling and transportation to school has been paid for and once they graduate they get even more money.

So, a month of filming essentially set them up for a much brighter future.

i haven't seen slumdog and i doubt it's amazing or anything, but people who criticize a movie because it's not a difficult enough plot puzzle to solve are silly.

It was the 2nd best movie I've seen in the past year, doesn't sniff my all time top 10 or anything crazy like that.

loved this movie. when I saw it though, I had the unfortunate displeasure of sitting near the two most obnoxious movie-goers I've ever had to put up with probably. luckily it didnt totally ruin the movie for me.

They talked constantly throughout the movie, and werent really even making an attempt to whisper and they kept making stupid comments. The one girl would watch a simple scene like the water bottle scene and then ask "wait what was he doing?" and the other girl would explain to her...and this happened several times during the movie. They also proceeded to eat their popcorn louder than I thought was possible, and squeak the straw up and down and slurp their drinks...it was pretty amazing how rude they were..and they were probably like late 20s...not some HS girls or something.

but outside that the movie was awesome
