Wow, some great videos on Gamespot. I haven't checked on updates in a while now, so this is a nice surprise.

a tease trailer for a upcoming trailer on Dec 22nd.....

I am interested in the line "if he cant gain their trust..." Implies you might have to use the dialogue selection more that the last game in order to affect your team. Rather than just to get bonus missions and dig into their past.

Whatever, will buy.

Not sure if it's the whole thing or just the last page.

I kinda want to preorder and get that badass black hole gun or w/e, but I don't know if its only through Gamespot or if I can order through like Amazon and get it too.

Anyone know?

"BioWare has announced that its highly anticipated sci-fi RPG Mass Effect 2 will be released on Jan. 26, 2010. The developer also revealed details about bonus in-game items that will be available to those who pre-order the game from select retailers.

For those who pre-order through GameStop, you’ll receive Terminus Assault Armor and the M-90 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon. Here are the official descriptions:

* The Terminus Armor is designed for use in extreme planetary conditions, increasing run speed and personal shields, and augmenting weapons with an additional magazine of reserve ammo.
* The M-90 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon generates a high-powered localized gravity well, accelerating particles to near-infinite mass, and ultimately expanding the selection of heavy weapons available to players when they gear up for combat missions in Mass Effect 2.

If you pre-order the game through Electronic Arts online store, you’ll receive Inferno Armor, which BioWare describes thusly:

“The potent Inferno Armor…is used by officers to monitor battlefield conditions by recognizing elevated heart rates, and regulates sub-systems with extreme efficiency to allow for greater response times – together these abilities translate in-game into a negotiation bonus for Commander Shepard and an increase in run speed and augmented damage from combat powers.”

A release date AND pre-order bonuses? Mass Effect fans must be feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good about themselves right now…Right?

Turns out that review was just the last page, I figured they would spend more than 1 page on easily the biggest game of this quarter.

^^ they probably rushed the review so they could claim the title "first mass effect 2 review" and drive more traffic.

Not hardly - Bioshock 2 will be the biggest game this quarter, and don't underestimate Bad Company 2.

I'll take your word for it, but I haven't heard nearly as much hype about those games as I have Mass Effect 2.

Nostradumbass here already judging two games he's never played before

Hey which movie is better, Iron Man 2 or the new Robin Hood

^the new robin hood by far.

and my judgement isn't based on which game is better, its based on which game has a bigger hype engine, has had more marketing, etc...not to mention its bioware which gets a lot of hype just because.

Also, you read my comment completely out of context...read the 2-3 comments above in order and it will make sense to you.

It's coming out at the same time this time.

But it's going to be basically the same game for both if that's what you're asking.

Mass Effect (PC) > Mass Effect (360). Don't think it will be like this for this release though, since they come out on the same date. Though Dragon Age for the PC was much, much better, even when I compared it to the 360 version of a friend and the PC version on my somewhat crappy laptop.

I think the PC and 360 version are very much the same. Even more so with the enhanced frame rate of the sequel. 360 wins out though because the visuals on my TV and amazing soundtrack and sound pumping on surround system

Got my new video card today which both resolved all the issues I was having plus looks incredible. So I just put in my collectors edition order on Steam.

This might be a debate if I had a nice TV, but since I don't it's a no brainer.

I have a PC that runs Dragon Age at max settings, but I'm still getting ME2 on the 360, so that my ME1 360 saved game can effect ME2.

yea idk what platform to get it on...

ive got a 46 Samsung B750 LCD

but my PC blows away the xbox graphics wise and I have the PC connected to the TV...

I should probably invest in the Xbox controller for PC...

Well you should do that, but Mass Effect doesn't support the 360 controller, neither will ME2 according to the devs.
