As stated before, started off awful, just awful but the last 5 months have changed my life. 12/16/2008 7:27:08 PM |

relatively good; although it did get shitty toward end up 2008 spring semester. Trying to graduate and working 40 hours per week. Not as fun as 2007 but it was fun and it is a turning point year. 12/16/2008 7:46:41 PM |

Went from full time work to full time school again. Work sucked, and school sucked. Hopefully 2009 is better. 12/23/2008 10:54:44 AM |

All in all, really good.
Moved into a new role at work that pays a lot more, is more interesting, and more flexible. Found out we are having our second daughter. Refinanced the house to pay off a car and build an addition. Took trips to the Outer Banks, Cincinnati, NC Mountains, and LA. Getting the last 2 weeks of the year off of work.
Only bad news was finding out I have a brain tumor, but it is benign so I can put off surgery for another 9 months. 12/23/2008 12:38:34 PM |

Jan. 31st - My favorite pet, Melky (my cat) died.
June 5-8 - I take an awesome road trip with my best friend to New York City and take in a couple of great Yankee games
June 13th - I get laid off of work.
July 18th - Saw the Dark Knight. Awesome.
August - Met my current Girlfriend
October 13th - Got a new job
November 15th - So happy with the new job that I decided to buy my first house, and made an offer.
December 15th - Started hating new job with a passion.
December 22nd - Closed on my first house.
December 23rd - Yankees get Mark Teixiera --- Completing the trio of CC Sabathia, AJ Burnette, and Tex. Great off season.
December 23rd - Got called in for a job interview at another pretty good company.
We'll see what lies ahead, but so far this year has been full of so many ups and downs, that I am not sure how I felt about it. 12/23/2008 8:15:33 PM |

Can't complain too much: Year started out ok but things got way better in March/April when I started my current IT job at a company in Durham. I also started beta testing radios for a company in the late summer/fall which really rocks cause I get to keep the radios after the beta testing is done. Still doing radio consulting work on the side for Media/Public Safety agencies and hope 2009 continues in this same direction.
I also hope 2009 is a good year overall for everyone here at Tdubb. 12/23/2008 8:44:53 PM |

Fucking sucked, this year can go to Hell.
If 2009 is a repeat I doubt I'll see 2010.

I really hope '09 is better than '08 was. I was thinking about it last night and this just wasn't a great year. 12/31/2008 10:37:45 AM |

2008 was great for the most part.
The big thing is that I finally got a permanent full-time job in the field I studied for in college. Unemployment was hell, so when I got hired in February, that was probably the highlight of my year. That was my 08 resolution, and fulfilling that was awesome. Got a smaller place and saved about $100 a month. Got my certification to referee high school soccer. Carolina Mudcats made the Southern League Finals after sucking for the past couple of years. Met a lot of cool and interesting people. Obama getting elected was also big. Went to the rally in Raleigh, even though I got a parking ticket. LOL.
Downers included two close relatives passing: one was my cousin (father's side) who was pretty much my third grandma. She babysat me when I was little. The other was my actual grandma (mother's side) and she just died a week ago. Had the funeral yesterday, so God bless those two. My dad has prostate cancer, but it's not as serious as once thought.
Other than that, 08 was great. Hopefully 09 is better. 1/1/2009 4:34:13 PM |
