I love all these "men" giving proposal advice - who have never done it or are not even close to locking one down.

Why would I want to get engaged? I don't want to get married.

As far as I'm concerned, proposing on a holiday isn't a big deal. Now, if he had gotten married on Xmas just to make it easier to remember to get her a gift that would be another thing.
