got back from the REI garage sale a little while ago

most of the good stuff was already gone, but i got a north face shell that was new, but returned because it had the wrong size liner with it for $54.83, was $249 retail, although i just got the shell.. don't need the liner anyway.

Also got an Arc'teryx fleece for the same price, returned because it "wasn't warm enough"

gonna hit up the north hills and cary ones this weekend too.

The pit zips came in handy big time. It was 15 degrees with winds in excess of 30mph at carvers gap, way colder up at the peak and on the balds. I was 100% warm and comfortable with the jacket I bought but I was sweating and there was no way I was going to unzip or take the jacket off. I opened the pit zips and could tell I cooled down just a little bit, enough to control the moisture.
