When I was thinking most aggressive I was thinking most damage as a serious factor. Yeah a yorkie might cause you to need some stitches but you won't lose your life from an attack.Pit bulls need a shitton of exercise, mental stimulation, and a strong leader to be consistently firm, most pit bull owners arent this.[Edited on January 3, 2009 at 9:22 PM. I think her point is that she at least has more experience than the common person. And Joie where did you hear the thing about yorkies? I've been around maybe one mean yorkie.

I bet population skews the statistic a bit, they are such a popular breed. And listen I'm not trying to claim I'm an expert, I'm going off personal experience which does happen to be a lot, it's something I've spent a good portion of my life on. People need to know what they're getting into before owning a pet and not nearly enough owners do which causes a lot of problems.[Edited on January 3, 2009 at 9:25 PM. Reason : bleh]

Population numbers skew the averages a lot because they are based on reported attacks. I like the study I posted because it evaluated various members of each breed.
1/3/2009 9:27:25 PM
which makes much more sense.
1/3/2009 9:29:00 PM
you know i'm not gonna get in a pissing match with anyone...i just want to say...that dogs aren't as placed as most people think they are.due to statistics ( i learned this my senior year at state so if i am wrong correct me)terriers are the more aggressive breed...and among that .. it the yorkshires that the to be the worst....so (honestly correst me if i am wrong..i would rather know the truth on "breed traits" than be wrong[Edited on January 3, 2009 at 9:38 PM. My parents had one yorkie that was given to us by my aunt. My young cousins abused it and it was given to us so it could escape that environment. That was the meanest fucking dog on the planet. Ever. After he died, my parents got another teacup yorkie. They've babied it, and it is the most docile (and lazy) dog on the planet.
1/3/2009 9:40:29 PM
As long as people do their research on breeds they want before getting them then animals would be a lot better off. I didn't really pay much attention to the statistics, I've no reason to judge one breed more harshly than another. I'm going off personal experience having dealt with thousands of breeds I can give a general description of their personalities. Most people who buy yorkies get them because they're cute, small, and look good in a purse. When you take the animal part out of the picture you get more bites from the pissed off spoiled pet. A lot of people who buy pit bulls get them as a status symbol, or for fighting. Again, they're not properly attended to.blahblahblah

They're very smart when focused and trained well, otherwise they are easily distracted and destructive.
1/3/2009 9:54:18 PM
I thought labradors and poodles were both considered pretty intelligent for dogs.
1/3/2009 9:54:36 PM
They are labeled that way but how many have you actually run into that act the way they're described? It all goes back to training, you get out of the dog what you put into it.

I also want to say that I don't know what the fuck Joie keeps babbling on about. Can you give us a legitimate source for this yokies are the most aggressive breed on the planet and terriers are horrible nonsense? You just keep saying that you heard it when you went to State, which as we know, word of mouth is the end all be all of fact finding. That said, NO breed is "the most aggressive." Dogs are not engineered to be aggressive. Dominant, territorial, stubborn, determined, and tenacious, yes. It's people giving dogs human traits that makes them aggressive and just fucked in the head in general. Until people learn to properly train their dogs and treat them like a DOG, there will always be dogs with "issues."
1/4/2009 7:09:38 PM
ugly fucking dogs.
1/4/2009 7:12:04 PM
definitely some ugly little fuckers.
1/4/2009 7:13:44 PM
So does Kiwi believe Labs are dumb or smart? I'm just wondering, because she's contradicted herself a few times in this thread.
1/4/2009 7:16:50 PM
They can be smart when used to their potential, they just like every other dog need training, focus, a job. Most people don't do that so they run around like dumbasses knocking everything in their path down.So both, you get out of the dog what you put into it.It can be incredibly smart or a fucking dumbass asshole.
