ok, so i'll be taking in about 650 calories a day, and burning about 1600a pound of fat is about 3500 calories, so i should lose about a pound every 3.6 dayswe'll see if generic half ass math actually worksDay 1: 275.2Day 2: 274.8Total: -.4#

thats far too little intake.figure out your rmr and go from there, looks like youre completely neglecting the calories (and other things) your body needs just to sustain itself[Edited on January 11, 2009 at 11:13 AM. Reason : e]

i figured about 800 a day exercising and maybe the same for everything elsecarbs and protien mang, forced to suck the fat out of my reserves
1/11/2009 11:15:37 AM
Hell I'm 100 lbs lighter than you and with my activity level the resting metabolic rate is like 2800 cals/daySubtract your exercise caals, some other shit, and creating a deficit greater than like 15-20% isn't healthy. From what I've read. Some of the guuys on here are way more knowledgeable though
1/11/2009 11:18:27 AM
if i start passing out and shit i'll kick it up a notch

Yeah, I lost a good bit of weight at 1,400-1,500 per day and I'm 1/3 your size ... definitely don't try to go to 650 or anything remotely close to that low or you are going to destroy all your internal organs with a quickness.
1/11/2009 12:41:03 PM
your calories are way off. If you really plan on burning around 800 calories a day, then you should be able to still eat 2000 calories a day at your size and still lose close to 2 pounds a week. If not, then you're either eating more calories than you think you are or not burning as many calories as you originally estimated. The plan you listed previously will just result in you wasting muscle and crashing your metabolism.

I see this ending VERY soon, unless there's a changedon't be an idiotup your calories to AT LEAST 1200

the last few posts are spot on. if you don't take in enough calories, say goodbye to muscle and carbs.
1/11/2009 3:02:25 PM
I will get on my treadmill at 3mph on a 5% incline for 1-2 hours. my heart rate will stay around 120bpm.

when I started losing weight last year I was 289...I did the whole 1500 cal/day route for the first few months...was mainly yogurt, bananas, and chicken. Yes, I lost the weight but I would never do that again. It's left me with some pretty nasty stretch marks from the sudden weight drop...I'd take it more slowly at around 2500 cal/day if I could do it over again and focus more on building a larger muscle foundation to be my calorie incinerator, rather than relying on a deficit to do the tricktry a 2500 cal/day CKD diet imo
1/11/2009 3:15:30 PM
where can you get cheap effedrine. shit was like 8 dollars for a 9-pack at the gas station.
1/11/2009 3:20:31 PM
cyclic ketogenic diets aren't a good recommendation for someone just trying to get into a weight loss routine. The hormonal swings on the carb-up day and the subsequent depletion days are a lot more than most people can tolerate. The first month I did a CKD was pure torture, as I was still trying to figure out how my body best responded to the carb-up.[Edited on January 11, 2009 at 3:23 PM. anyone that uses "energy pills" to work out is a joke
1/11/2009 3:23:06 PM
I'm met guys that would snort cocaine during their powerlifting workouts. They could bench close to 600 raw and were batshit crazy.
1/11/2009 3:24:36 PM
just because you have all the time in the world to hike doesnt mean someone cant boost their metabolism and exercise to get a bulk of extra weight down quickly
1/11/2009 3:25:07 PM
I agree, something as drastic as CKD is not needed initiallysimply reducing calories and getting of your lazy ass should be enough
1/11/2009 3:35:20 PM
thats why i'm bloggin this thread, i'm not sticking to any plan or taking any advice, just gonna do it and see what happens

not to be an ass but how do you let yourself get up to 300 pounds? i am 6'1 and I am the fattest i have ever been at 220. I am disgusted and have started dieting and working out
1/29/2009 8:41:27 AM
^ you are being an ass. I'm sure most people find you disgusting at any weight.
1/29/2009 9:44:57 AM

I wasnt calling you fat, haha, you could be like really large framed, but many people are like 5'6 and weigh 300 pounds and are not like this. i was just wondering how they let this happen!
1/29/2009 4:53:54 PM
i would not consider myself a petite framed person by any means, most of these were between 280-290#, most people don't believe me when i tell them how much i weigh

I'm trying to gain 20 pounds. Right now I'm holding steady at 180.You fatasses have any suggestions?
1/29/2009 6:10:24 PM
drink lots of beer, and stop getting so damn enthusiatic about shit, cookout cheddar bacon dogs, and fast food 3 times a day, supersize that shit, and buy a golf cart to ride out to the mailbox
1/29/2009 6:12:25 PM
Fast food and other greasy shit doesn't work for me, believe me I've tried that route. I'll put on 5 pounds in a week or 2 and then lose it playing sports or hiking the next few weeks.I'm actually up about 15 pounds from where I was in September, and I've done it by eating lots of small meals high in protein and carbs. Working out has helped as well. But I've plateaued lately, getting stuck at 180 for about 2 months now. Maybe I need to cram in another meal each day, or lift more often.
