Dude, you're an idiot. I've confronted tons of drunk people (and been confronted while drunk) and through experience I've realized its futile like 9 out of 10 times. Even if they're friendly drunks they're still gonna be loud as fuck and aren't going to break up the party just b/c I said they're being too loud.

Also, if you're in COLLEGE living in APARTMENTS with other COLLEGE KIDS you should expect for their to be parties regardless of any prior warning. no. it's the second resort, if not the first. If you share a wall or floor of your house with other people, you should check with them first if you plan on throwing a party. If you didn't bother to do that, then they don't owe you a visit to tell you to STFU.

no...no it goes on for at least another hour. i called the cops once after running out of options. cop runs out about 40 minutes later and laughs at the dude passed out on my back porch and tells the others to take him inside. no tickets or sticking around until people left. party continued for another hour. btw i hate the shrill sound of drunk girls laughing

Ding. That's what has happened at my apartment complex. They've never invited any of the neighbors, they leave shit EVERY-FUCKING WHERE (I have never seen so many cigarette butts and broken beer bottles, cans, cups, etc), and they decide to have their party outside in the breezeway instead of inside their apartment - and our apartments could seriously use some better insulation/sound proofing. You hear noises like your window is wide open.

Even though YOU as the renter of the apartment doesn't want to annoy your neighbors all the people that come to your party don't give a shit about your neighbors, even when they are sober.

So the more people you have at a party, then more people you have in an apartment that doesn't care about the people below them, to the sides of them, or above them. Then add alcohol to that mix.

You can't sit there and say that every single person at that party would quiet down because the neighbor downstairs had to get up at 6 am for work. Even if you wanted them to, you get to a certain point of alcohol consumption where you don't realize how loud you are, and people aren't going to quiet down.

Your best option to not get the cops called on you is let everyone who shares a wall or floor with you know that you're having a party and they are welcome to come if they'd like. (They probabaly won't come), but they would be less likely to call the cops on you if you invited them.
