^ i kind of agree with this

it would be different if she had talked a big game about all the music she likes and then you went over to her house and found like 79 backstreet boys cds and a collection of beanie babies.

and i like you, i do. i just feel like this is a little picky. you could be hard pressed to find a girl that likes good music (or the SAME music as you--i will put it that way, for the haters). so unless she was completely lying, i think you should give her another chance!

i think it is probably good to have SOME similarity if music is something that you are passionate about

like at least being able to stand each other's musical tastes.

i can sort of relate, its a complete turnoff when a girl calls me "emo" for liking indie music

i dont care what kind of music a girl likes as long as she doesn't play any country while in my presence. otherwise im gonna blast my emo next chance i get.

i hate bumping this thread because it in all honestly it was extremely lame, but the last weekend her and her friend came over and she happened to be wearing a velvet underground shirt

my roommate who noticed this decided to put on some velvet underground

and she asked him, "who is this?"

that was the true deal breaker

listening to very obscure music usually happens on purpose and for very personal reasons. It's not about being cool or 'connecting' to people, it's about an idea about art or artistic intent, etc.

So if someone lies about your obscure music to connect with you, it becomes an insult rather than flattering. Besides, the point is he's already found out this girl will lie over something completely unimportant, how could you think she'll be truthful when it matters?
