You are clearly are just jealous of "us" C-level types. Let's take off the kid gloves and action-item this shit. You're probably Hot-desking all day long, worried about how you're going to ramp-up your mouse potatoing on your way through Hump Day. Business jargon is keepage, you uninformed multi-slackers...just because you can't touch base with management and your FreeCell time has reached critical mass, doesn't mean that we can't productize our lingo and provide turn-key conversations.

Let's table this shit while I go to the safe harbour.

i tend to overuse football analogies -- it annoys some people i'm sure -- first downs, in the red zone, grind it out a few yards at a time, block & tackle

^^haha I do that too.

I just had a meeting with sales reps last Friday and I said something about beating both your competition and external forces you can't always control (referees).

I used the Denver/San Diego game as an example, the one where Hochuli blew the call at the end of the game.

:raises hand:: 07 for me too! i even have a fancy little green belt coiled up on my desk

during really long meetings or when an easy target is presenting, i will team up with someone else who hates buzzwords and we'll keep track of how often they say certain words

the words i loathe the most

- level set
- net net

it makes my ears bleed

of course i always know what people are saying when they use the buzzwords because i have context but it doesn't make it any less annoying when they could have said it more simply

Jargon in general doesn't drive me crazy, just so long as it's well-defined and well-motivated. Like I may talk about "well-ordered fields" or some shit but at least I can drop 16 axioms and let you know exactly what the fuck is under discussion

i just came across this gem!

face-to-face systematic solicitation (cold calling)

hahaha.. when you have to clarify what you just said by putting the "real" meaning in parenthesis.... you've gone too far

I occasionally use the phrase "level set," but I'm a mathematician so it's ok.
