All I know is that I can't wait to get home and hit up somewhere for a good beer...and maybe a burger or something. Flying Saucer sounds good, offhand. Maybe the Village Drafthouse. I don't know what's good down at the coast, but I bet that I'll figure it out in short order.

I detest clubs. I enjoy a place where I can sit down and actually have a goddamn conversation, as opposed to screaming over shitty music to no effect, particularly with the bardtender. Also a place where I can get a drink without ten minutes of wrestling for position with mongoloids and whores.

I'm very old-school in my appreciation of drinking establishments.

I've never been in a bar where marines were present where said marines did not either:

1) Proposition me for sex
or
2) Ask me to fight a stranger for them

How those two requests are reconcilable I will never know. Apparently I strike people (Marines, anyway) as a violent homosexual. I'm unsure how to feel about this. Probably not good.

I've heard that you are unattractive. Aside from which, I have historically come on to extremely liberal women, and historically it has ended in the following:

1) Threats of personal arson
2) A lawsuit
3) Further threats of personal arson
4) Stalking
5) Still more threats of personal arson
6) The loss of many hundreds of dollars
7) Alcoholism
8) An extreme distaste for liberal women

I'm not exaggerating. At least three separate women have expressed an interest in killing me, specifically by setting me on fire. After a while you say, "Fuck it, I don't care if they have no sense of humor, I'm dating republicans from now on."

I enjoy clubs but like bars more. I love the chill atmosphere that allows for conversation instead of stupid dancing and sweating and making out with random dudes etc. Though sometimes that is needed I definitely couldnt do it on a regular basis.

i like bars b/c i at most i like the music better, and i enjoy being able to go out in jeans and flip flops and not get stopped at the door. i also like bars where there's a server instead of my having to go up to the bar to order a drink. i enjoy sitting in a dark booth or table with a couple friends, chatting and laughing it up over a Guinness (or PBR or whatever). in many cases the food. i don't mind lounges, but i'm not totally comfortable there, even though i can pretty much go anywhere and have a good time. i despise clubs.

not a fan of clubs and lounges myself. i prefer the laid back atmosphere of a bar

i dont really frequent bars but its a good place to meet a friend in town for work or something and hang out and talk past normal restaurant hours

Bars in Raleigh kinda suck, but I usually go to meet up with friends. We all pretend like we will find a chick to take home with us, but I think we all know deep down that the chicks at bars are nasty. SO instead we drink heavily in somber realization of this fact, and around 3am decide to stumble towards the closest library, because we are convinced all the ones worth keeping at holed up inside. Despite the fact that the library is closed. Ah yes, Alcohol.

i don't really care for clubs...they're expensive as hell, and if your goal is to pick up a woman (which mine would not be, but i would assume that's one of the biggest reasons a guy would go), you're guaranteed to find nothing but high maintenance girls there

guys to go pick up girls and flaunt their money, girls go to show themselves off...just not my scene

bars are more intimate, in that you can actually TALK to people you go with...they're relaxing and much cheaper...they also usually have a much better selection of drinks

all that said, my favorite bar is probably saucer, if that tells you anything...i might go to saucer once a week, but past that, i rarely go anywhere else

Bars are great for skanks and getting drunk. I think the longest relationship I had that began at a bar lasted only 2 weeks. I actually had a chick ask me to buy her a drink at the farmhouse. Bars have some nasty/desperate people in them.

I'll repeat this and add a few points of my own.

First...with bars I feel like you have more choices. You can have a sports bar, a pub, a wine bar, a dive bar, a trendy bar, etc. To me...and I know it's not exactly like this...but a club is a club. There's loud music, lights, and dancing. I know there are different types of music in clubs...but the atmosphere is still generally the same.

I also don't like to get all dressed up, which is what I feel like most guys wear to clubs.

I pretty much only like to hit up a club when it's late at night and I'm pretty drunk. And I'm a good dancer too (well, just hip-hop...don't do the house/trance stuff), I just never feel like dancing until I'm past the "buzzing" stage/

I looooove getting dressed up, but I still just hit up bars mostly. We will go over to a lounge when we've had some dranks and feel like dancing.

Usually if I wanna dance I just do it where ever I am standing
