Abbey Road is good, but every time I've been there, it ends up being a 3 or 4 hour excursion, between the drive and the wait.

Umm...

Char-Grill. Seriously. Whoever said cook out and Melvins' are superior is just on crack, that's all there is. Flame-broiled >> fried, so no go on Melvins', and cook out's burgers are too small and I don't like their buns or their standard fixin's. Burger itself is fine.

If not Char-Grill, then Five Guys, MoJoe's, Red Robin, and Village Draft House are all good substitutes, though the experience is of course different at each.

What-A-Burger and In & Out Burger are both overrated, in my opinion.

I heard about damn In and Out Burger for years and years. Finally went and ate at one in L.A. last fall.

Fucking tons of people there eating. I was so pumped. When I bit into the burger, I quickly realized that there was nothing special about it. At all.

Asking around, people indicated to me that the only burger they compare it to is McDonald's or maybe Carl's, Jr.

Well, that makes sense. It is good compared to those two, but it certainly wasn't any better than say a Cook-Out or a Five Guys, or Char-grill.

Cloos does have a damn good burger, now that you mention it. Get it with bacon. Their fries are out-fucking-standing (I daresay best in Raleigh), which complements the burger well.

Just don't go there if you're in a hurry.

Fat Daddy's if you're in Raleigh. Fuddruckers is alright, but I don't know where there is one around here.

raleigh times, player's retreat, fat daddy's, mojos

p-retreat and the times both grind (or whatever) their own meat (i think...at least player's retreat does).
