Yeah, but the difference is that Rivers wouldn't go crying to the media about how his feelings are hurt, and how he can't ever trust his coach again. Cutler has been a whiny bitch throughout this whole process. And say what you want about Rivers and his occasional antics on the field, he's never been a whiny bitch off of it. Even when Marty publicly campaigned to keep Brees around in the 2006 offseason after Rivers had sat on the bench quietly for 2 years, he acted like a professional rather than trying to force a trade or whining about the management.

Cutler has a huge ego and major maturity problems. He reminds me a lot of Jeff George.

Cutler has granted multiple interviews venting about the situation and criticizing McDaniels. Read the last article from Mortensen with several quotes from Cutler, that is just the most recent of many. Meanwhile, he ignored repeated phone calls from Denver's front office and owner for 2 weeks, while they were desperately trying to resolve the situation. That is the definition of whining to the press.
