i did suggest medicine, but keeping the place super clean and washing your hands if you handle the animal will help A LOT.

Or if you don't have a membership to a warehouse club, you can do what I do and buy the store brand version for cheaper. You can get a 30 day supply for around 11 bucks. Almost every drugstore and supercenter type store have their own version.

There was once a girl I really liked that had a cat. I didn't tell her I was allergic until I went to visit her (diff town). She gave me some Zyrtec and it worked like a champ. Whether the cat would have been a problem down the road, I don't know didn't get there.

However this is different, you were with her before she got the cat. Get rid of the damn thing.
