THis would be a nice garage meet, albeit waaay out of the way compared to the cookout on western

BTW, if Quinn were to go and put his shit on the rollers, I would put the Lung up there as well for a little TWW competition

I think you might be referring to his imaginary truck, currently wrapped around the not so imaginary compound turbos that are most likely still sitting on his bedroom floor.

hey hey hey hey

wait a minute. I've got a few hundred hours, couple grand, in a truck that has been intended for street and strip duty.

It had been duly named "the black lung" way back when it was purchased, and is commonly referred to as "the lung" among a few of my friends.

I dropped about $3k in performance parts last winter, the combination putting me in the 600whp range. Unfortunately I was unable to install them due to not having a built transmission and an o-ringed/studded head to handle those power/cylinder pressure levels. I was planning to start saving as much as I could to finish the truck by late 2009. Then that got pushed back to mid 2010.

Then I realized that I needed to start saving for a house... a few unplanned things happened and I have now been a homeowner for nearly a week. (gf aint preggers yet, thankya jesus) The truck has been officially put on the back burner until further notice, not to mention I have sold a few of the power parts I purchased to help ease the financial burden of buying a house on a moderate single income.

there's nothing wrong with a streetable truck pushing 750 hp to the wheels and running low 11 second passes in my book....morons? dude.

and for what purpose? because I love the diesel performance niche, and feel like it's a worthy addition to usual evo/bmw/porsche conversation that takes place.

So i dropped my car off to get it tuned early this week. I made the mistake of telling the guy there was nothing a 14B turbo could produce that the engine couldnt handle. I kind of forgot about the clutch.... Street disk rated for ~240-260 ftlbs. I imagine at 17-20 psi of boost i was getting close to ~200-220. I still think the clutch ratings were bogus as I know it wasnt >240.......

I might be in the sub 200whp club with you now Hurley . I can feel it slip a little now and again at 14psi.

So.......anyone got any experience with a clutch for a civic that can hold 300-340hp? I just want to get 300 to the wheels and this project will be over. The car weighs about 1900lbs empty and doesnt need anymore power. I do drive this thing to work and could do without a puck type clutch if at all possible. I'm not sure it is going to be avoidable... Plz Help

^^haha, i used to think the same thing about the little 14b on my dsm. that is, until i had a mbc failure, it spiked to ~28psi under wot, and promptly eliminated the head gasket. relatively new oem mitsu gasket too.

put an act or spec in it. that thing should be a riot at that weight with 300whp, especially from a roll. we should meet up after you get it dialed in and i get my engine back together. i'll stay off the bottle.

From a roll yeah its a lot of fun. From 0mph...not so much. We will def meet up. It is a long drive to mexico though . If I go back for dyno time I'm going to run a evo3 16G or something else completely. I dont think there is any reason for me to pigeonhole myself into DSM turbos other then the fact that they are so cheap.

What did you do to your motor? If you need any help with anything just shoot me a PM. I'm only useful for reaching hard bolts because im so skinny and long, lol.

Not sure if I am going to make it now. Was supposed to have the rear end back earlier last week but the carrier wouldnt work with the spool. Should have it back Monday afternoon just dont know if I can get it all back together by Sat. Been getting out of work kinda late recently.

uhhh. yeah? isn't that kind of the point? you do realize the spool effectively becomes the carrier, right?

^not any decent one. try more like $1500 just for a forged 347 assembly. tack on another $300-400 for stroker pieces.

mini spool is correct, couldnt find a full spool that would fit a 28 spline ford 8.8" Still dont have the rear end back, hopefully tomorrow. Shouldnt be a problem to get it by Sat i dont think, would like to have it to go to Wilkes thursday though.
