Passing/receiving stats are impressive, rushing not so much.

The sacks were my biggest problem, in real games Wilson always got touched and would make a guy miss and either run or bomb it. Here, he can get grazed on the arm and it's a sack so maybe not the best representation of how he's doing.

not to mention, that would be more telling of how the O-line is doing instead of wilson. imo wilson looked fine.

yeah that rule was pretty lame

it was hurting Wilson a lot more than Glennon because Glennon is a pocket quarterback, nearly every play Wilson is moving around and like ActionPants said almost none of the 'touches' that the defense got on Wilson would have actually brought him down in a real game situation, he would have still gotten his pass off pretty easily

I thought the top 2 returning WRs are recovery from offseason surgeries, is that correct? Would suck if we have to rely on Spencer this season.....

crowd was huge, and pretty energetic.

Mario Carter really stood out to me. James Washington looked good in the first half, especially behind the second team OL. Glennon is progressing right along. Front 7 looks real good.

Overall, an excellent time.

are you serious?? He was our best WR last year even though he dropped a couple balls against Wake/UNC. I swear some people have never seen our games before when they spout things out on here

Yeah, but Spencered dropped way to many wide open TDs last season, luckily, we won most of those games....the UNC game he dropped 2 for sure TDs. He was the top WR but he also had games where he couldnt even catch a cold...more less the football.

Wilson throws it to a wide open Spencer....wolfpacknation holds their collective breaths.....

dudes, lay off spencer

it was his first year in the spotlight. homeboy can make a few mistakes.

damn, you act like he drops every ball thrown to him. he'll be a lot better this year.

let me correct my statement from last page.

glennon looks like a star in the making. not a star just yet. but it looks like he has all the tools to be a great one. wilson definitely for this year though

I didn't get to watch it, but I'm going to assume he's not going to risk going for the big play and getting himself hurt in the spring game, especially since he has another sport going on RIGHT NOW.

A couple he says...

But I agree he was the most spectacular receiver last year. Considering the number of times he was that wide open to even be in position to drop those sure touchdowns shows he has a ton of potential.

He's still the most frustrating receiver I've ever seen.

Just got back from the game, the sack rule definitely hurt Russell more although Russell was working behind a much better offensive line than Glennon was. Glennon looked good, I was surprised by how fast he moved. Not that he's a ridiculously mobile guy but he looked very comfortable rolling outside the pocket.

Other than the QBs, the LBs (pretty much all of them) looked very good, our TEs looked very good and Jarvis Williams did a good job at receiver.

I had a fun time at the game

Great turnout and donations ($28K raised i think).

Wilson and Glennon looked good...too bad for the sack rule, but i understand.

Picked up some nice autographs: Nate Irving, Owen Spencer, Mike Glennon, and TOB.

I also took some turf , but so were a lot of others.

I saw a couple of unc fans there, and one guy yelled out Go Gamecocks... o well

Overall, fun game and nice to see the Wilson to Spencer bomb for a TD today

i had a nice time out there today too
saw a bunch of recruits and saw some of our commits working hard getting in the ears of our high targets

i really loved how TOB recognized the Wolfpack Warriors ... nice touch
also appreciated the separate time for Russel

raised about 30K too so nice going pack fans

^yea

Right after I TOB signed my NC state flag, a few guys stepped up for a picture with him. As I walked away, one of those boys yelled that out. People booed some, but nobody really cared too much

Someone alluded to it earlier, and with the "go gamecocks" thing, I wonder about scouts at things like this. Do other teams put in the effort to scout us at stuff like this? Especially people like USC who play us early and dont have a chance to get our tapes from other opponents.

^ My mama and I did too. We searched high and low for Glennon. FINALLY when they announced 6 minutes to go, he was there by the tunnel. Weird.

DBo will be back definitely. He just didn't suit up today. Not worth it. I think Owen will improve and be better this season....I hope. Jarvis did a nice job on receiving. Didn't like the touch-sack calling but I understood it....obviously. O-line did look a lil' weak to me, but we'll see I guess. Curtis had some nice carries. He didn't see much playing time last year. Hopefully he'll step up at the back position. NICE TURNOUT. Didn't get why ppl were tearing up the grass around the 'S' logo. Weird if you ask me. I'm surprised Staff 1 ppl allowed it as well as the FEW coaches on the field. Got Glennon and T.O.B's autographs.

Additional observation from today: Standing in line for T.O.B's autograph, a lil' boy (had to be like 3) said, "You're my favoritest coach I've ever known." T.O.B goes, "I'm PROBABLY THE ONLY coach you've ever known." HAHAHAHA

^They are replacing the field before the season starts. Going from the style we have now with a hump in the middle to drain water to a flat field (still grass)

anyone know if they are gonna paint the endzones this year? i dislike the white words look

i know the paint kills the grass, but i just dont see how other schools manage to paint their grass and dont see how the Turf Management people at State can't figure out what to do about it

^^ It was an amazing turnout. I hear it was the best one thus far. This was my first Spring Game, so I wasn't aware THIS many ppl went. Nice job Pack Nation. *Side note: This was my first one, as I used to go to ALL of the Meet The Pack Days (which I think are no longer) back in the day.*

Amen!!!!!! I truly hope we see RED in the endzone again. I miss the white background with red lettering. *sigh* Please to bring that back! *fingers crossed*

wat?

that whole post made my head spin, probably because stating that a guy who is coming off ACL surgery just 2 months ago decided not to suit up b/c its "not worth it" isn't exactly what they call "accurate"

I don't think the gap between RW and Glennon is that big. This is probably Wilson's last year if he wants to play pro baseball. Glennon has the better arm and already makes decent reads. He is our long term solution. We might see both play a good bit. We might have the two best QBs in the ACC.

In a game like today's, there's not a whole lot of separation between the two. Both have cannon arms. Wilson has much better touch, but Glennon's height is a huge help.

Put them in a real game, where QB's don't get "sacked" simply with a hand-graze, and Wilson is far and away the better option. At least at this point.

I mean, I heard from horse's mouth that he was better and would be playing this season. Not sure whre you got the ACL thing from. He had a stress facture in his spine. That was what I was referring to. Heard that he felt fine, so I was stating that in reference to him suiting up to further WORSEN the injury is "not worth" him sitting out for another season, considering he is in the healing process.
