once upon a time, i think there would've been very few people on here that i wouldn't have crushed.

now, there are probably a number of you who could rough me up. i'm not really very big...i'm only like 5'8" and a little over 180 lbs. I'm still pretty strong, but not ridiculous gorilla-strong like I was about 5 years ago, at least in terms of upper-body strength (my rotator cuffs won't allow that kind of training anymore...although my leg and core strength is as good as ever). I don't have tons of training or anything...I wrestled in highschool (like a bunch of the rest of you, and I'm now 11 years out of practice), and I have some training from the USMC.


now, that said, I did some more MCMAP training while I was in Iraq and moved up a belt...in this course, it was full-on live fighting, but you started seated back-to-back, and there was no striking (at least during live fights). There were probably 20 Marines in the class, and I probably fought 15 of them, and submitted every one of them (usually in a minute or less), including a couple of Marines who were significantly bigger than me. There was one guy who fought me to a draw once, and then I choked him later in a second fight. That made me feel like I might still have it, and less like a feeble old man about to turn 30.
