redick's nba offensive arsenal:
1 - dribble to the lane & once he hits the paint he passes to the nearest teammate on the perimeter (regardless of how well they're defended)
2 - stand lead-footed behind the arc, giving the guy defending him a breather

he's not bad. turning into a steve kerr-type role player, exactly what most people expected. he'll likely be a double-digit scorer due to his shooting touch, but never be someone who can really create his own shot. but hey, that's not a bad niche.

He was a lottery pick. I don't think you use the #11 overall pick in the draft expecting to get Steve Kerr these days. Don't get me wrong, he isn't a Shelden Williams or Adam Morrison type bust, but you would really expect more from a #11 pick than what Redick has done to this point.

^ look at the other players in recent years drafted at 11, hard to say he's underachieved compared to this group.

^^ there are about 5 guys on that list I'd take in front of JJ. Thats not to mention guards drafted after pick 11 - Rondo and Brewer, and in the following years - Aaron Brooks, Rodney Stuckey, George Hill, and I guess you could throw in Courtney Lee

i'll also say that it's not his fault how high he went. any NBA team drafting a 6'4" white guy with limited athleticism in the lottery is probably reaching. it took him a few years change his body and improve his defense, but he's averaging about 10 points a game, shooting around 40% from 3 as a key bench player for one of the better teams in the NBA. i'll also bet that he's gonna make a decent amount of money this summer. i'd say he's done alright

^ agreed. and that was a WEAK draft, one of the worst in the past decade...only player drafted behind him that was a CLEAR better choice was Rajon Rondo at 21. heck, i would argue that redick will have a better career than at least 4 or 5 guys drafted ahead of him:

Adam Morrison
Saer Sene
Sheldon Williams
Patrick O'Bryant...

heck, maybe even Ty Thomas. So, I think it's a real stretch to claim he's a bust compared to what that draft has produced.
