man this is a sad day. I remember my freshman year i was hanging out with some older guys late one night having a few drinks and they began telling me all about Miss Betty. We ended up making the trek over to WH and waited for a table in her section. It was awesome, she was a trip and could exchange cracks with the best. I probably went 10 or so more times during my time in Raleigh, always waiting for Miss Betty. Man she will be missed.

she was driving down 401 on her way back home to Warrenton, so i'm not sure if it was still Wake County or not. i'm not even sure what counties you pass through between here and there besides Wake and Warren

ETA: it says Wake Forest, so yeah, she was still in Wake County

Damn man this is really sad. Ms. Betty was and is part of my college experience. I remember one time we asked her if they made pancakes and she got all pissy and said "NO, because this is the WAFFLE house!" She also used to always ask when my girlfriend and I were getting married, which was akward, but nice of her to care. What an awesome lady, she has gone to heaven for sure.

I hope that drunk, white trash bastard gets ass raped in prison for many years.

This is hard to believe...I've been eating there for more than 15 years. And I knew who she was for most of that.

When I worked at the Five-O, we'd close up and head over there and stuff our faces...at least a couple times a week. And she was always waiting for us. This is sad.

Attended NC State since 1998, have lived in the area, and dabbled in grad school ever since...

I went to high school less than a couple of miles from NC State. Same with middle school...
