^440 is the only way to go. carb it and run it on e85, make sure you get a gasket set for e85 though

the 360 like they put in the dakota RT would be as big as i'd go

I just bought a 97 toyota 4runner 4x4 with body damage for $1500. today I'm pulling off the running boards and mudflaps. then I'm going to do a few things and wheel it. here's the planned mod list-

265/75R16 BFG KM 2's
16x8 Wheelers Off Road black steel wheels
poly sway bar and steering rack bushings
trail gear sliders from Chase @ East Coast Gear
4crawler 1" body lift
optima yellow top (already got it)
Budbuilt IFS and T-case skidplates
swap in a factory e-locker rear axle, switch and wiring harness or a lockrite, which would be about $700 cheaper.

I should be able to do everything for right at $5000 trying to get it all done in the next month, so we'll see how it turns out.
