Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a good suggestion. I prefer the G35/G37 coupe naturally, but the Hyundai is much cheaper, has the same power, and will also be much cheaper to maintain than Infiniti (or Lexus, BMW, whatever).
And from the couple of reviews I have read, their performance isn't bad either. 7/2/2009 5:15:19 PM |

^ that is a good point i like the genesis... and neon... you haven't read shit in the mags then about the mustang/camaro/challenger shootout cause the mustang is first or a close second in each... yes it has less horsepower but the 3-5 hundred pounds it doesn't have makes up for it.
i have a feeling toyota will be coming out with something cool in the near future.... sooo i'm keeping my eyes peeled there and if i were you i'd hold on to my dollar bucks.... 7/2/2009 6:27:57 PM |

the genesis coupe is fine i guess. there is a v6 and a turbo model. the 2.0 turbo with the track option is intriguing imo. (brembos, better suspension /w struts etc.) msrp is $26,750. leaves a couple thousand for tuning. i would see if you can find any numbers on tuned models. i wouldn't be surprised if the numbers are actually somewhat disappointing. the v6 model honestly doesn't do a damn thing for me O.o
the problem with the v6 is that it wishes it were the 370z. the msrp on the sport package model of the Z (front rear spoiler, syncro rev matching etc.) is 32,930. the v6 genesis is 29,5000. for a generic performance comparison the Z does 0-60 in 4.7s, the genesis in 5.7s. enough said imo.
go for the Z if you're even considering the genesis coupe. 7/2/2009 6:28:13 PM |

even if the hyundai is amazing, you are still driving a "performance car" made by hyundai. cross it off the list pronto! 7/2/2009 7:28:40 PM |

My GF just bought a simple base 08 Sonata. Albeit, a bit plasticy, the interior is a lot nicer than I expected. I'd imagine you get even more from the Genesis. 7/2/2009 10:30:06 PM |

You guys slam the Camaro SS and then say this. The Camaro V6 beat the Genesis in a C&D comparo (not that all in life is bench racing), it was the clear winner.7/8/2009 12:56:15 AM |

If only I had that much to spend
I just got a 03' G35 coupe and I love it. I love the 370z though. I'd probably go with G37 coupe simply because I want the backseat and the luxury without sacrificing too much power (0-60 in 5.3-5.5 secs vs. 0-60 in 4.7-4.9 secs).
