I really am curious to see who they throw @ Lesnar right now. There's no doubt, he looks bound to have the title for quite some time unless somebody catches him like Mir did the first time. I didn't consider the pre-match trash talk between Mir & Lesnar anything out of the ordinary. If you're a fighter, you're going to have to take a little disrespect, and dish some out, just to market the fight. When you don't pound gloves, flip off the crowd, spit into the camera, you look like a juiced-up classless ass. Whether you have the right to do what you want or not, it detracts from the integrity of the sport IMO. I think it might actually improve ratings, but only if they can find another freak of nature that can stand toe-to-toe with him.

The Carwin-Velasquez winner most likely is getting Lesnar next. Those guys are the only UFC heavyweights with any good momentum. And Carwin would be a great matchup for Lesnar since they're both really big really strong wrestlers.

This of course is null and void if Affliction folds and the UFC signs the winner of Fedor-Barnett Fedor

Can someone check Bisping's twitter page and see if it is nothing but moans and mumbles?

Did he break his jaw?

Fedor would be awesome! Although I have to admit it would be ironic that, in a match between an American & a Russian on U.S. soil, the Russian would be the crowd favorite.

So let me get this straight Brock being a cocky mofo after dominating Frank Mir and people hate him. I think its great. He is a beast and he knows it. He backs it up, he got caught in the first fight by a lucky leg lock. Face it the heavyweight division is kind of light on talent right now and Brock is the best they have. I think most MMA fans have a problem with the fact that Lesnar made money in the WWE. Interviews post fight are not much different than pro wrestling promos meant to self promote and set the stage for future fights. So what if Brock is a cocky bastard almost every successful fighter in the UFC is cocky.

I was glad to see that overrated clown Bisping get destroyed by Hendo. The GSP fight was good, GSP dominated but Alves made some great escapes spending most of the match on his back.

BigHit, I dont disagree with you about anyone who steps into the cage is a real fighter, but even Dana White was pissed off at Lesner

So Lesnar says he won't drink Bud Light cause they won't pay him anything. Yet they are the main sponsor for an event that is paying him $3 Million. Where the fuck does he think the $ is really coming from?

Brock Lesnar doesn't respect the title? The fans are upset with Brock Lesnar's lack of respect?

Why, this is a storyline unlike any I've ever seen!

I gotta say that I was never a fan of Lesnar's wrestling work, but I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the best promos I've seen since all the Jericho/HBK stuff last year.

About the only thing that made me enjoy UFC for a night was watching a former professional wrestler beat the shit out of some MMA guy and cut a promo in the midddle of the ring.

its beautiful to me, has been doin thesame thing u just did, discrediting brocks wrestling, technical, and athletic pedigree

the point wasn't that you enjoy or not enjoy pro wrestling

you simplified it into "some MMA guy got beat by a pro wrestler"

and it wasn't you that i said was discrediting him, it was Frank Mir but I made the point that your argument was very similar to the trash Mir was talking for a very long time

Didn't Lesnar tryout for the Chicago Bears a few years ago when he first left WWE...Is there any truth to that rumor?

I didn't think fans of arguably the most barbaric and violent sport would be the type to get their panties in a wad about somebody talking shit after he won a fight

and not that barbaric and violent is bad, just that it makes it even funnier when people choose Lesnar's words as what offended them the most

He tried out for the Vikings, but was one of the last cuts before the season started a couple of years back.

^^ what makes it more fucked up is that on a night when Dan henderson lands the world's most unnecessary follow up atomic bomb on bisping and then says "I figured id throw that one just to shut him up a little" in the interview afterwards

its funny that people are so pissed about brock cutting a promo and as one retard on another forum said "talking about fornicating with his wife (lol?)"

its all about who people like and dislike, rampage threw an extra bomb on Wandy and ran over a few pregnant mothers after he lost the belt...no one cared

but god forbid rashad does a little dancing in the ring, HE HAS NO PLACE IN MMA DISRESPECTFUL ASS CLOWN

psh whatever, when GSP lays and prays for 5 rounds (thats all he freakin does nowadays) he is praised and honored and all the fan boys catch boners, brock does what he did against heath and mir (murder them) and people criticize it as lay and pray and hate him for it and call him a boring wrestler

When randy couture leans on someone against the fence for 90 rounds hes an AMAZING LEGEND, tim sylvia does it for one fight and the fans wanna run him out of down

thats why im glad brock flicked those assholes off, its all about fanboyism, if Lesnar were to get on his knees and bow to mir and the crowd with his face on the mat and hands out after the fight hed still be booed exactly the same, theyd just think of somethin else to bitch about

sorry for the rant

Again, I don't know much about MMA, but I'm at a loss as to how that guy has such a big following. He pretty much had the match won within the first two rounds and then just proceeded to let the other guy drag it out for another 15 minutes. You'd think, if you fought for a living, you'd have some sort of killer instinct and want to finish things quickly.

^^^as long as that was, it's pretty much true

Lesnar took a lot of shit from Mir before the fight and Lesnar didn't really say anything to him then. He destroyed Mir and then afterwards ran his mouth. I know if somebody talked shit to me for a few months and I just whipped their ass, I would probably do the same thing too.

Not that I am an MMA fighter..... but here's my take on "taking someone out." Yes, it is quite awesome to beat someone by knockout, especially when it is some kind of grudge match and you really dislike your opponent. However from what I have seen, when you approach a match specifically trying to knock someone out, it often leaves you more vulnerable to counter-attacks and being knocked out yourself. If a fighter starts a bout out with two very solid rounds, and then plays "smart" and just takes the fighter down and works a little ground-n-pound, that really takes away the other fighter's "wild-card" and makes it unlikely he will land a lucky haymaker and win a match he did not deserve to win. I believe I watched one of BigHitSunday's matches where that happened to him.

brock lesnar is playing the monster heel to a t

ufc will sign fedor

fedor is the face to end all faces in mma

if you think they won't build this just like a wrestlemania championship match, you're delusional

Also, words from Jim Ross:

Quote :
"Lesnar's post match, unscripted remarks did not completely surpirse me. Those that do not personally know Lesnar as do I need to understand that his level of intensity and fury is scary. Brock has said many things in private conversations that I have been a part of that would make one do a double take. He is an intimidating, emotional jock who has been known for speaking first and thinking later. I don't think Brock is an inherently evil person whatsoever but his level of competitiveness can be dangerous. It's like Brock "moonsaulting" at Wrestlemania 19 in Seattle against Kurt Angle when being advised not to prior to the bout. Lesnar was told that men his size don't do top rope Moonsaults which was the wrong thing to say to the former NCAA All American and National Champion. Lesnar came close to tragically ending his athletic career that night while defying logic and doing what others told him that he could not do.

Lesnar, as I pointed out a couple of days ago, loves to be jeered...the louder the better. Brock takes his game to another level when he knows that it's him against the world. Former OU and Dallas Cowboys Coach Barry Switzer went into the College Football Hall of Fame and won three National Titles and a Super Bowl with that coaching style, "it's us against the world and the world wants to see us lose."
When Lesnar, who detested the travel and emotional demands of WWE's schedule, was the most "hated villain" on the roster he was at his happiest in sports entertainment.

Plus, let's not forget that some people genuinely enjoy being a badass bully. Lesnar, in a ring, mat, or octagon, embraces that persona. Brock may say that he did not like school but the South Dakota farm boy is far from being a dumb jock. Lesnar has plenty of common sense and knows, as Eric Bischoff wrote, that controversy does in deed create cash.

The UFC knows that as well. All great promoters get that basic element of selling tickets and pay per views."

Jim Ross is actually a pretty valid opinion given he is a talent scout and he knows the business of both pro wrestling and MMA

hes 100% correct, why else would Brock have one fight in the minor leagues and then knock on UFC's door and demand that he not be given "cans" to fight and will only fight the best the UFC has to offer

thats why he got fast tracked to the title

I agree. Brock is just a really good entrepreneur. And he knows what it takes to make money. Plus, he brings something new to the UFC that no one has experienced before. Which, to me, is a good thing. I mean, it's encouraging to see fighters hug and bow to each other after a fight, but a little animosity and drama every now and then is welcome.
