ok apparently its 4 cyl 2.0. thought it was svt but no svt on car just an "se" and the inspection thats good until 05/2010 says its a 4 cyl 2.0

it was like 40301 if that helps. he immediately as soon as he hooked it in was like "its the egr valve"...i'm like well the person i bought it from said its the cat, and my wise coworker said o2 sensor. and then hes like well does the muffler sound loud and i'm like "yeah i guess kinda" and he said thats what happens sometimes with a bad cat, but then he hooked it up and said its the egr valve. i then asked like "well if i changed the cat would it fix it" and he shook his head

at least its not a head gasket like you said earlier

and a P0301 is a random misfire code

P0401 is insufficient egr flow, which i'm gonna guess thats what you meant since i know you didnt write shit down

can be:

no vacuum from intake
egr valve stuck closed
leaking egr valve
plugged egr port
short in egrvr circuit
short in vref circuit
dpf egr sensor hose leak
vpwr to egrvr solenoid open circuit
damaged egr orifice tube
bad egr solenoid
bad computer

so go ahead and throw an egr valve at it, its only expensive and a pain in the fuckin ass if you know what you're doing, a disaster with you, and you have a 10% chance that fixes it, and guess what, when it doesn't, because you haven't diagnosed shit instead of throwing parts at it, that same autozone kid is gonna ell you tough shit, we can't take that part back once its installed

they are in business to sell you parts, they could care less if it fixes your problem or not fucktard

couldnt see the first thing. only thing i really remember was like 301. i guess a p looks kinda like a 4. and the book that had the owners manual had svt on it. thats why i thought it was the svt model.
