actually, what are the prices and products typically like at one of these things? i never went to one when i still lived in Raleigh, but discounted, quality laptops have my attention. 9/13/2009 12:52:22 AM |

^^hands down 75% good deals on lenovo stuff, the other 25% isn't too far off either. There's a wide amount and variety on both laptops and desktops.
The biggest downside IMHO is (when the lists are actually sent out ahead of time) douchebags who buy 30 or 40 of these to resell on ebay or CL. I mean honestly I probably would too, but it pisses me off if I'm looking to buy one specific personal computer just to see my first, second, and third choices cleaned out in the first hour. So it's either waste a morning and wait for another couple of months to maybe get a good deal or buy a computer that wasn't really what you wanted.
Use the search on old threads for more info. 9/13/2009 3:08:09 AM |

another reason I'm pushing to make it online, gives more people a fighting chance of actually buying. A lot of people skip on it knowing they probably won't get what they want.
and of course you guys would get the link 9/13/2009 11:09:16 AM |

I'm sure they don't care, as long as somebody buys it. 9/13/2009 6:54:15 PM |

^I saw in one of your first warehouse threads you were helping out a few Tdubbers if they ponied up beforehand. You still doing that? My old R40 is a tank, but it is severely outdated on processing power. Looking into the next year or so for another IBM/Lenovo comp and if the next few have lists I'd be willing to do that. 9/13/2009 9:34:12 PM |

Before I was helping so it would save people the trip up to greensboro. If its all web based by the next one you guys won't need my help besides just posting the link. 9/14/2009 12:35:16 AM |

If it's web-based then I'm curious what are they proposing. Auction style? queue like TRACS ? 9/14/2009 9:45:12 PM |
