Not that I'm going to disagree with being frustrated, but sometimes the majority wants something that isn't fair or reasonable. The problem is that arguments about right/wrong get framed in such absurd ways as to twist reality into something almost totally unrecognizable.
I'll use another hot-button issue as an example: gay marriage. People put their religious beliefs ahead of their common sense, and say things that have no basis in fact or in law. People say that marriage is a sacred or religious institution, when it is, in fact, a legal institution. No benefits are derived from getting married in a church, whereas signing a marriage license lets you apply for all sorts of things.
Anyway, I'm sure someone's going to troll me for that, but it's a stretch to expect rational discussion on TWW.9/10/2009 6:39:09 PM |
