You can find good tools on craigslist too.
Here's all the cordless power tools you'll ever need for $65 http://raleigh.craigslist.org/tls/2376177363.html

i need a good floor jack capable of lifting the tires off the ground on my Infiniti Qx4, stock height. I've had this cheap ass one I got from Autozone about 3 years ago go bad on me. I think it broke a seal. Anyway I was thinking about getting a Craftsman due to the lifetime warranty. Thoughts?
never mind it only comes with one year warranty. but it still may be worth it. they have a 3-ton jack for $80. where else should i look...harbor freight, any other tool store?

I have the craftsman SUV jack and I wouldnt recommend it. I have had it for going on 12 years, but I also have had to take it apart and fix it several times. My brother and dad have the same jack and they just ended up trashing theirs because it was giving them too many problems. Lots of problems with it weeping fluid.
I can say that it is one of the better jacks I have used at getting my van or my old truck up high enough to change big tires. Other jacks I have used just didnt go high enough, or didnt feel safe at that height(i would still put on jack stands, I just didnt feel comfortable at all until i had the jack stands under the van).
My dad has a Northern Tool jack that he has had for at least 20 years, it is slow as hell to jack the car up, but it is as stable as they come. It also has a large tray on the head of the jack, which I like much better than the small hockey puck sized one that i have. 7/21/2011 9:12:08 AM |

I know it may seem like a gimmick, but i would try to buy one with the "quick lift" feature. It actually is really nice to have it go from the ground to the axle in a couple pumps, instead of 30. 7/21/2011 9:12:47 AM |

^^ yeah I have another 2 ton jack that i used for my wife's car but the lift range isn't enough to get my tires off the ground on my truck. i don't need a super awesome jack as I only need to use it a few times a year for routine maintenance on two vehicles. i'll check northern tools. 7/21/2011 9:31:47 AM |

all of them.
I have this mindset where I take something on, finish it and look to something else.
Im actually working on my 2nd set of boards at the moment. these are more portable and I made them a little better I think.
did a tiki bar not long ago as well, dunno what my next project is, havent thought that up yet. 8/30/2011 4:27:26 PM |

How in the heck can I get tools exchanged if I do not have a dealer anywhere close to me. I don't want to pay the shipping to send a bunch of broke stuff away and have to insure the package. Surely it's got to be like Xbox and they can just send me a prepaid box to send stuff back in. 5/28/2013 9:29:46 PM |

RiverRat, check out this baby right here:http://www.amazon.com/Rockwell-RK2515K2-LithiumTech-12-Volt-Impact/dp/B004U4BAI8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422865163&sr=8-1&keywords=3rill
I got the non-impact version, and it's super light and super strong for it's size. AND, you get lifetime battery replacement (up to 2 batteries per year, you will still pay for shipping) - don't know how the lithiums will do in the long run, but with Ni-Cd I had to buy new batteries every two or three years with light use - that got old really fast. So far the lithiums (both in this thing any my Ryobi 18v) are holding up much better, but it's good to have a peace of mind. 2/2/2015 3:25:34 AM |

^^that only has a hex chuck. That kinda limits you. I want a regular old jaw chuck. That Rockwell would fill the need for an impact driver, but not for a drill. Also doesn't have a hammer drill. My goal is to get both tools with common batteries. 2/3/2015 8:33:17 PM |
