cant believe it took the dumbass chick returning to the scene of the crime for the cops to get her, considering the plate # was given.

Pics or it didn't happen. Like for real, you need to scan in her mug shot from The Slammer or go get it from the jail.

Glad they caught her, good luck getting your car fixed.

I am really not sure what kind of car it was. It was dark and as she was driving away my brain was screaming GET HER LICENSE PLATE NUMBER. It was all I could do to keep it in my mind while I was looking for something to write it down with. Her license plate had one of those plastic frames around it, so I had the wrong state for the tag.

The cop said the report should be online by Thursday at the earliest, I'll post it when it shows up. Also, I go see the claims adjuster today, so I'll post about that later (I'm with Allstate, btw).

did you not call the cops??"

why would you even consider this? They aren't going to do shit about it. I've been hit twice in hit and runs...

The first time some dumb bitch hit my parked car and two witnesses remained behind until i came outside to give me her full license plate number, description of her car AND the fact that she works at the bar next door. dumbass cary cop came out said there is nothing he could do about it and 'tough luck' and drove off.

Second time I got hit on the highway, followed the guy until i was 100% sure on the plate, description, driver description (and since he wouldn't stop) I called the cops again. They came out said the plate i gave them doesn't match the description of the truck and that was that. I did my own damn research online and not only found a perfect description but his vin, address, place of business etc...

wtf, i was involved in a hit and run on the corner of Method and Western as well. I had a witness stop for and wait for the cops with me too. But the cop was a dick and gave me the hardest time. My car is still damaged over a year later.

I got the other guy's insurance to pay from one hit and run, but there were witnesses and the dumbass parked his car in the same lot so the damage was easy to see.

Second, no luck. I am sure it was some stupid bitch international student with a uhaul, but no witnesses.

i'm really interested in seeing her slammer pic.

i would keep that as a trophy.

i think normally they can't do anything about it if they don't see the car or find the car, mostly because it becomes he said she said, unless there is video evidence, and this is rarely the case.

however, i do believe cops should make a more genuine effort in finding the people if for no reason other than you're own information and peace of mind. that way you can do the leg work to what might actually become a case that can go to trial.

in all honesty, you're likely fucked, though.

I had a hit and run on Method Rd as well...a truck with no headlights on and no tags. Hit my rear quarter and spun me around. There was a witness, but she was a crack head that said she would only stick around if I paid her, so I said "fuck this shit" and went home.

That chick looks like a real winner.

^ I thought hit and runs were supposed to be a big deal. If you ahve a license plate why wouldn't a cop go after the person.

btw this is why you pay for uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance. With all the illegals mexicans, meth whores, drunks who lost their driving privileges with their last DUI, and worthless people running around I am not taking any chances.

i have uninsured and underinsured coverage on my plan as well. i always thought it was ridiculous to pay insurance for you and everyone else too, but it's pretty cheap. does anyone else have this?

and that's awesome they actually found her and even better took her to jail. good work on your part pursuing it

Of course. Between the college students, the normal dregs of society, and all the illegals we have around here it is almost mandatory if you have a car that is worth keeping nice.

I have it, too. The deductible is only 100 bucks (opposed to 500 for the collision claim before they found her) and it gets refunded once she pays Allstate back for the repair costs. They told me they'd "suspend her license" until she paid it... But she was driving without a license, so I don't know what they're gonna do instead.

wtf seriously? Can they not impound her car or something? That's kind of scary they're letting her out of jail and giving her her car back.

Most times with situations like this they can impound a car up until a court date. However I don't know how that works in the case of a civil suit.

I'll guess that Mr. Policeofficer also charged her with driving without a license when he arrested her at the gas station.

You did a great job getting her license plate number. When I got hit like that the guy was tearing away almost as soon as I realized I'd been hit, and I also witnessed another hit and run where no one on the scene reacted quickly enough to get the plate number.

^Yeah, she got four tickets in all. hit and run, failure to yield, driving without a license, and something else.

I am gonna get the car fix. There are some gashes along the right side of the front bumper, the claims adjuster said they can be fixed without replacing the whole thing. Total repair cost around 450 bucks.

So, who knows of a good body shop around the Raleigh/Cary area?

You should be able to sue her in civil court for the deductible. Technically thats what your ins company will do as well.

^^Yeah, my insurance company is going to refund the deductible once she pays them for the total damages.
